It's that time again : time for coffee and drupal in Toronto. This month Andre Molnar has offered to demo Web Networks' new File and Digital Asset Management Module (a.k.a. WebFM). This is an exclusive sneak peek at the work they've been doing so don't miss it!

Time: 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, November 21st
Location: LinuxCaffe 326 Harbord St. [map]

Background:
A client came to us with a set of requirements for a site that included
an easy way to manage a large number of digital documents. They needed
to be able to bulk upload files. They also needed to be able to
organize and re-organize the folders in which those documents were kept.

Upload module just wasn't going to do it for us. Neither was a single
'files' directory.

Solution:
Write a web based file manager that:
-Allows you to browse the files folder.
-Create new directories.
-Rename and move existing directories and their contents.
-keep drupal aware of where everything was at all times.
-make it easy to attach files to nodes.
-allow files to be tagged with metadata.

-and make the interface slick and easy to use with drag and drop
operations and context aware right click menus for various actions (like
rename and delete and attach, detach and anything else your heart desires).

Result:
Web Network's File and Digital Asset Management Module
or WebFM

I think we'd love to have a copy of that module for one of our projects.. when is it going to be available for public consumption?

Ahh .. missed it. Too busy.
