The Central Connecticut Drupal Meetup Group will be holding its next educational and interactive, face-to-face meeting on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 7pm to 9pm in Library 236 at the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, CT, as it continues to build and strengthen the community of Drupal developers, designers, administrators, content creators and other stakeholders in Connecticut. Come meet fellow Drupalists. Come learn what Drupal can do for you and the best practices to apply when using Drupal. Come help steer our group to become an invaluable source of information and networking opportunities. We are a passionate and fun group, enthusiastic to grow and help all those interested in Drupal - beginners, journeymen and experts - by sharing our collective knowledge, expertise, experiences and ideas.

The Drupal Meetup will be held in Library 236 at the University of Connecticut Law School. Enter the main library entrance, 39 Elizabeth Street, take the elevators down one floor, the computer lab is on your left as you exit the elevator.
Here is a google map centered on the University of Connecticut School of Law and a campus map showing the locations of the building in which we will be meeting. If you enter the campus via the Elizabeth Street entrance, park in the lots on the right (adjacent to Hosmer) or on the left (adjacent to the Library) where you can find space.

Also, some of us will be meeting beforehand at 5:30 at Lena's First & Last Pizzeria, 2053 Park St Hartford, CT for a bit of socializing and food.
The socialization, mixed with some technical discussions, was really excellent last month. For me, it really helped to solidify our core group of Drupalists.

Having just upgraded to version 6.x I'm experiencing some differences in the behavior or certain modules. Two in particular are securepages and views_slideshow. Hopefully someone has some experience with one or both of these they would be willing to share/discuss tonight. See you at Lena's.

Just wanted to say that I think last night was a great meetup! We had a good representation of topics covered from general info, to site building, to industry trends and mobile development. I look forward to the next one!

Similar to most projects I've worked on over the years, there seems to be no ONE topic with Drupal that can satisfy everyone. However, I find that there is most to learn, technically, from both presentations and issue discussions with the group. And the pre-meeting gathering for socializing (coupled with tech discussions) is a good precursor to get things rolling each month.
