While it’s been a few months in the making (time sure does fly!), the final version of the TriDUG logo and type treatment are now available. I’ve also included a PDF that delineates the full color scheme for print, screen, and the web.
If you haven’t seen my previous presentations, and would like to see more of the development process, take a look at the following g.d.o posts:
http://groups.drupal.org/node/148434
http://groups.drupal.org/node/155994
I’ve also attached the final presentation that revealed the logo and type, though the color has changed a bit as I’ve narrowed down the various school colors that make up the logo.
A few notes:
-
the typeface used is the freely licensed DejaVu Sans: http://dejavu-fonts.org/
-
this typeface should be used where possible in combination with both the full logo as well as the standalone TriDUG type treatment
-
the full color breakdown is in the color scheme document, and the colors used are the official colors of Duke, UNC, NC State, and the Druplicon. However, the current colors employed by Duke appear to be inconsistently managed from department to department, so the RGB, CMYK, and Pantone values are all based on their fidelity to the official Duke web color #001A57, which is a dark navy blue. I made this choice because the current official Duke colors shift too much between color spaces.
-
please feel free to let me know if a custom version, treatment, or a different size is needed for any current or future applications, the attached versions are in CMYK PDF vector format so they’re resizable, but please keep the proportions and spacing (including the outer margins) the same
-
while I give this work freely to the TriDUG community, I will retain minor reproduction rights for my portfolio and I would also like the opportunity to design any future uses of the logo and type treatment where it is practical or possible to do so

Thank you Tim!
Truly a quality end product from a quality guy... Thanks for donating your time and energy and dealing with all the ups and downs of "group design". You listened, kept us focused, and delivered a logo that everyone can be proud of.
The new logo looks good at the top of the g.d.o/tridug page now.
Thanks!
TriDUG is most welcome. I’m glad it turned out so well! Hopefully there will be many opportunities to use it in the future.
