Should we duplicate?

The "simple site configuration" skills set seems to overlap quite a bit with "content creation and management." It seems to me that some of the skills listed under content creation and management are really more simple site configuration. I could see moving creating menu links, taxonomy terms, URL aliases, creating blocks to simple site configuration. As a website manager, I could do site configuration, but I had people who only created and edited content, etc. who worked for me.

If it's better to duplicate, I'm okay with that, too.

Also, can we change this skill set to "Basic site configuration"? Simple just sounds kind of, well, simple.

I agree that some of the skills in this set should be moved over to basic site configuration (and that the other skill set should be named just so).

I see this skill set as one for adding/managing content on the site – not building views or placing blocks. (It's of course up for discussion!)

Simple site configuration...

Simple site configuration... what does it actually mean?

Configuration options such as Site title, what is the front page?

Understanding how to navigate the administration area, locate settings like permissions and comment queue?

Information architecture? Content type creation and navigation configuration?

Content management to me is "Using the site as it is delivered and managing the content".

And the elements described above are beginning site building steps.

I agree with Heather. The

I agree with Heather. The skills listed are not your typically on-going post launch content management.

In that case, I think this

In that case, I think this should be called something like "site maintenance".

Does that make sense?

Then we can move the basic site configuration into basic site building?

+1 for moving

I just did some changes to the list of skills.

I'm having problems finding good skills to add to this set, and I think – as you suggest – that it might be a good idea to merge this skill set into other ones. I don't think there are any skills that can't be moved, so this set melts away.
