The Central Connecticut Drupal Meetup Group will be holding its next educational and interactive, face-to-face meeting on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 7pm to 9pm. We are a passionate and fun group, enthusiastic to grow and help all those interested in Drupal - beginners, journeymen and experts - by sharing our collective knowledge, expertise, experiences and ideas.

Thanks to everyone that came out to the meetup last night, I think was productive and hopefully we can keep it going next month. Below is everything we talked about and hopefully after this weekend I can start diving into some of this and we can start planning.

Discussions:
Drupal Staffing in CT: I discussed some of the issues we have been running into with finding good Drupal talent in the state and we talked through some possibilities of how to fix it and what the group could do.
Based upon the first issue and the need to grow the meetup group more, we discussed the following:
The idea is to run some kind of Drupal Business Summit in CT, during a weekday, for half a day, offer breakfast and offer it to local chamber of commerces as an event...
The idea is to run a day long Drupal training, sponsored by local companies and classes that are put on my local members, etc.
If you would like to be involved in the planning of either or these events let Matt or Mark F know and we would be happy to have you help out!
We also discussed how to increase attendance at future meetups and Mark is going to reach out to a couple companies to see if we can get some other Drupal speakers. I am also going to do some research on upcoming general web development topics (HTML5, SASS, RWD) and see if we can get some speakers for those topics. Although they aren't Drupal specific, they are relevant to the work we do daily.
