I'd like to discuss how we could organize/plan the office/formal/training style meetup for October 28th in Beijing-Haidien area.
There will be different level of Drupal skill set and knowledge so focusing certain level might not be ideal.
I was thinking we could all participate and request or offer what we would like to learn or propose or share by commenting.
Then we can vote(click like button or plus button) and also discuss and choose topics more open style. :)
What do you think?
For now, Robin's office will be available for us Beijing Drupal group on 28th. Ben prefered afternoon so let's do it afternoon.
And we can add more activities for that day not only training or knowledge sharing at the office.
Badminton play or walking to the park and eating out after...at a local restaurant would be fun. This part doesn't have to be official program and anyone wants to do that can join this part more casually.

I bought multilingual book and got PDF training material from DrupalCon Munich but haven't started this yet.
It's always so easy and fast to see someone does it and show me.
My style is more visual...not reading book style.

basic Drush, calendar, git installation, IRC chat -I can teach
When I first had to use drush...I was so scared and felt so stressed!
But after finding YouTube video on how to install drush on Windows Server and follow on the instruction and made it happen!
I was so relieved! And eversince using Drush...my drupal life got so much better and faster! :)
But still I know something is not quite right...I will ask expert Drupaler for that but 99% I am doing fine!
Also my usage of Drush is not so advanced one!
I could teach or share my knowledge of basic drush commandline.
Maybe seasoned drupaler could add on that and show more tips and commands!

I learned git installation and using git...still it's not so advanced...I could just teach how to install it.
Advanced drupaler could show more...how to apply patch and contribute on the core issues.
There is a video on www.drupalize.me on this topic but it's nice to learn in person always.
There were many developers(module developers) coming to DrupalCon Munich sprint to learn how to use IRC chat and how to do git and patch etc! Many people(designers, coders, developers) only used Drupal for their business but didn't contribute back to the community and they came to learn to help out/support/contribute to drupal community. It can be so easy and simple but it tool so much time when I learned this at DrupalCon Munich...
If there were more advanced mentors next to newbies or intermediate or simply drupallers who didn't know how to do this...we would have learned faster(at DrupalCon Munich).
I arrived to the sprint room at 9AM to learn how to contribute by learning git stuff and patch...etc...but it was almost 5PM when I finally first got ready to test patch...
A lot of time consuming...with some technical issues that day...
But if one mentor sat next to me and guided through how to set my local machine for git and patch...it wouldn't take more than 30 min I believe....
Anyway! I strongly believe sharing knowledge in person could speed up individuals' drupal skill fast!
That's why I am actively getting involved with meet up and personal gatherings.

I love taking photos and sharing information when I think it's useful for others. It's my human design...I was told I am destined to do bridge kind of mission. :))) Believe it or not.
