Hello Boston Drupalers!

I am visiting Boston this December and was wondering if anybody here can help me with recommendations for things I should do while I am there? Are there drupal meetups between December 5 to December 23 that I can be a part of? Would any of you be interested in shouting out for a meetup?

Also, I will be staying with my friends in Boston, but I have been an active couchsurfer and thought I would check if any drupaler in Boston likes the idea of hosting travelers for a day or two. (I could bring Indian delicacies with me) :-)

Also, also, It is the first time I am travelling outside my country - the Incredible India, and honestly, I am both a little anxious and excited at the same time. (They keep telling me bad stories about the December cold in Boston, US immigration, how first time travelers to the States lose their baggage, get mugged and such things!) #bad-humor

Lots to do in Boston!

It may be a little cold to walk the "Freedom Trail," but if you dress warmly, it will take you past many of the most memorable spots in history. Just outside Boston, in Concord, MA, is the place (North Bridge) where the Revolution War started. Very sedate setting, but interesting to stand where the birthplace of America occurred.

It's also a shopping and eating 'paradise,' and you'll want to make it a point to visit the Quincy Market. It's one of the most 'livable' cities in the world - like San Francisco - and you shouldn't worry too much about the crime. It's like any big city, except the people are very friendly.

There are definitely some Boston Meet-ups in the early part of December while you're here. I'll planning to attend and will look you up to say 'hello.' We're going to be doing an 8-week boot camp on Drupal, so I wanted to go and get folks ideas on that.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the

Thanks for the recommendations.

Quincy market does seem like a great fun community place. I would add both that and the freedom trail to my list.

Do you have links to any meetups that you are aware of? I found about this PHP meetup - http://www.meetup.com/bostonphp/ but it is a day before I reach there. I have already added the other one in scor's comment below to my calendar.

Don't miss the code sprint on Sat 7th: https://groups.drupal.org/node/374173

Unfortunately you will be missing the monthly meetup on the first Tue of the month, which falls on Dec 3rd this time (not posted yet).

Thanks for sharing this @scor. I have subscribed to the post and hope all of you work out a location that is easy for me to get to ;-)

Sad that I would miss the regular monthly meetup sooo closely.
