I asked for this earlier with Drupal 5 but was informed that there was a bug somewhere so that proper Drupal versioning wasn't going to be possible until the upgrade to Drupal 6. I think most of the wrinkles to the upgrade have now been ironed out (and I'm sure it wasn't easy).
I need to ask again to enable versioning for the wiki's (if not other content types). It's a core aspect of being a wiki to know who made what change when. I set one up ages ago here to build a collaborative document and figured that nobody looked at it at all (until @v told me he'd edited it at DCDC).
I want the diff module enabled, give authors the option to enable versions. Shouldn't be that much work to configure and it would make the groups so much more effective!

Even versions without diff
Even versions without diff would be a big improvement. (Diff would be even better, of course.)
There's an issue for it at http://drupal.org/node/605676

ironically
Somewhat ironically we didn't do this until now for usability reasons because we didn't want people to see a "revisions" tab on every node unless it was a wiki node. The "allow revisions by content type" patch made it into diff module, Josh updated that yesterday, and I've just configured it on the site. The configuration is a bit weird so it may not work yet. If someone could provide simple instructions on how to configure it I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey that's great.
I tested it in an old wiki - http://groups.drupal.org/node/18595
Then created a new wiki - http://groups.drupal.org/node/39732
Worked just like I expected in both, thanks!
