Clarification
Just to clarify my thinking. There are some issues I want to raise that have come out of SWF Tools development. I am just a little unsure whether the Services group is appropriate for this.
The goals of SWF Tools are to:
1. provide a simple API for common tools like SWFObject
2. reduce the amount of code redundancy existing in contrib, and
3. offer a framework for rapid integration of 3rd party Flash Players, Flash Image galleries and so on
So, if people come to SWF Tools looking for AMFPHP or Flex, I'm directing them to Services module. In my mind these two modules have a different focus - that is my assessment of the situation.
Flash != Services
allthought the services module is now mainly used for flash/flex, it has a much broader use then flash/flex alone, so imo flash should get its seperate group
as flash devs who wants to use drupal as back-end system (eg. http://groups.drupal.org/node/3579 ) there is not really a place to go (except to post off-topic here in the services group)
in fact, I'm more curious to know if there are many flash devs using drupal, and in which way?

I think there's a lot of flash/flex/apollo related goodness that falls outside of the scope of this group/module. Really may make sense to have a mashup/api group.

In referring to mashups is there a group name that would better cover this? My ideas so far are:
"Flash" <-- the word attracts attention
"Flash and embedding" <-- Trying to be broader
Maybe "Flash and mashups", or just "Flash and mash"?
Part of my hesitancy is just to make sure I'm covering all the bases, so any thoughts are welcome.

Indeed, flash is just a consumer of Services-- and who's to say another type of "Services" module won't show up and make more flash integration easier/different? A separate Flash group would potentially draw in more Flash developer/designer eyes and even increase awareness with ready-made, flash-based examples and discussion, whereas now, nobody I know that does flash would have a clue where to begin with Services for Flash consumption.
