The Drupal (www.drupal.org) open-source content management system (CMS) is changing the way web sites are developed and deployed on the Internet. This course will examine Drupal web site architecture, design and site building. By the end of the course, students will be able to design, develop and deploy Drupal web sites.

The focus of this course will be the basic "Drupal out of the box" fundamentals including:

Drupal installation
Basic Drupal configuration including WYSIWYG editor
Pages and menus
Content types, fields and taxonomies
User roles and permissions
Views
This is a hand-on lab course. Students are expected to bring their own laptop with WiFi.

Each student will build out a fully functional web site using Drupal sandboxes on the Pantheon (www.getpantheon.com) hosting platform.
