Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I have a lot of really basic questions that I don't want to trouble you guys with. I have build Drupal sites before but this is the first distro I've worked with.

I can create content types and all that jazz and kinda know my way around Panels and Views after building www.ipswichgigs.co.uk but I seem to have come unstuck trying to get anything out of OpenPublish.

The getting started guide doesn't appear to be present on my site http://www.airmicdev.com/?q=getting-started, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Here's what's really stewing

Here's what's really stewing me at the moment.

I have created a content type called Membership News and I want teasers to display on the homepage, so I've added the block 'homepage articles' to the homepage (no mini-panels set up yet, I'm starting simple). As I understand it this block has been created by the view called 'articles'.

Or am I wide of the mark? How do I get content from a content type (I created membership news because there is no story or page content type with OpenPublish) to display as a teaser on the homepage?

I thought it was a matter of create content type, create view for said content type, add block where you want it?

Ah, I haven't managed to get clean URLs working on airmicdev.com yet so that may explain why I couldn't click to it using the link drupal gave me.

Do you know where http://yourdomain.com/getting-started resolves to so I can find the files another way?

Are you sure you've installed OP correctly? I see n/a on many places on your domain-- an indication that the installation was not clean.
