Pertaining to the next September 2014 Montreal Drupal Camp,
July 2nd, at the Board meeting of the Montreal Drupal Association, as a board member,
I requested that all French versions of texts related to the drupalCamp use a French tanslation of DrupalCamp (camp Drupal), easily accepting that it could be followed by the English version for search engines recognition of the brand-like "DrupalCamp".
This request was strongly and energically refused by all and each members, except myself. I do not want to take your time explaining and giving examples about why it is a problem feeding a broader problem. But this strong refusal for such a simple, tinny and legitimate request talks by itself.
So, as a potential participant or sponsor, if you see a problem in that, I invite you to privately send your conditions to the board for your participation or sponsorship. Still participating but with stating your conditions is the best way to change things. Participating with things as they are, is your endorsement of such practices and values.
It is not my vision to feed the Drupal Group blog with such debate on this and see so many negative comments that would need an explanation as a reply that would most probably not be well served by such communication media, and so one with ping pong replies... So I invite you to act according to your sense of ethics and your actual perception of reality of what reality is. If you do not care about this matter, your have your own free will.
On my side, I ended my affiliation to the Montreal Drupal Association on July 7 as board member. After several email exchanges with the Board from July 8-to July 9 where I wanted to make sure what their decision was about plain clear things, before they allow all board members time to reply (few hours), they removed my email in the board mailing list So, only Board members can email to board members list, after stating (1-2 members on behalf of the board) the board should not discuss anymore on the topic.
If they back their own decisions and if we are talking about a community, the board should not see a problem that I share the facts with the community. Of course I understand that for those for whom it is not a problem, there is nothing in that matter. So be it for them, sorry to pollute your announcement stream, it is the only stream that reaches all the community.
Consequently, until further change, I do not endorse anymore this Board, this Association nor the Montreal Drupal camp 2014, nor the Drupal technology for several lacks (IMPOV) in its local community, including ALL its actual board members, beside acknowledging that they may have some valuable competency in the technology.
Thanks,
Marc Tetreault

Wow :-(
(For those of you who can't read French, I'd encourage you to use Google Translate or to translate my response.)
Quel dommage!
Ouph! :-(
