Articles won't appear on front page?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I've spent some time this weekend tweaking the CSS for my test intallation of OpenPublish; I've put up some sample articles to get a sense of how OP works: http://newspaper.polestarstudios.com/

But I've run into a problem: When I promote an article to the front page ... it doesn't appear on the front page. Any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

Unfortunately, it's been so long ago, I don't remember what I did. I did eventually get too frustrated with OpenPublish to continue using it; I went with ProsePoint instead.
