I have two major goals for Services between now and Drupalcon:
1) Get a stable release of the 2.x branch out, followed by starting development on a 3.x branch
2) Get the D7 conversion done
Preferably in that order. I am hosting an IRC summit to discuss the best way to approach these. Mostly around the D7 conversion but also around getting the remaining issues in the 2.x queue wrapped up. There are a lot of options about how to approach the conversion and not much time at all. I had previously stated my opinion that we should just do a straight port of the existing version, but there are several features I'd love to see get wrapped in if we can get some momentum behind it.
The summit will take place at 17:00 GMT on Monday January 17th. This is 9:00 AM Pacific time in the US, 12:00 PM Eastern time. It will be held on IRC in the #drupal-services channel on freenode.
While I welcome discussion about features and bugs, the summit will largely focus on a roadmap to getting these releases out the door in a timely manner. If you have other topics please feel free to bring them up in the channel at another time.
Thanks everyone! Looking forward to seeing you!
