Here's an update from the Documentation Working Group (DocWG) on what has been happening in Drupal Documentation in the last month or so: a successfull Documentation sprint at DrupalDevDays, and more then 1000 edits on drupal.org.

Notable Documentation Updates

During the Documentation sprint at the DrupalDevDays in Montpellier, 13-19 April 2015, more than 15 contributors worked on Drupal 8 documentation - mainly on the help texts for all the core modules (https://www.drupal.org/node/1908570) . Together we managed to review all of them and only a few modules now need to be finalized before we can then add all of this documentation to on drupal.org. We also added the lacking help texts for the migrate modules, thereby closing two criticals. Thanks to everybody who wrote and reviewed the documentation and related tests, to the mentors who got new contributors set up, and to the organisers of the DrupalDevDays.

See the DocWG home page for how to contact us, if you'd like to be listed here in our next post!

Thanks for contributing!

Since our our previous TMIDD post, nearly 300 contributors have made a total of 1096 Drupal.org documentation page revisions, including seven people that made more than 30 edits, and one contributor who nearly made a hundered edits -- thanks everyone!

In addition, there were many many commits to Drupal Core and contributed projects that improved documentation -- these are hard to count, because many commits combine code and documentation -- but they are greatly appreciated too!

Documentation Priorities

The Current documentation priorities page is always a good place to look to figure out what to work on, and has been updated recently.

If you're new to contributing to documentation, these projects may seem a bit overwhelming -- so why not try out a New contributor task to get started?

Upcoming Events

Next week DrupalCon takes place in Los Angeles, with sprints for you to contribute and a session Let's Talk About Documentation!

Report from the Working Group

In our monthly Docs Working group meeting, we discussed the next priorities now that we have nearly finished the help texts, and we will update the Current Priorities page accordingly with new issues. We also had a very constructive meeting with webchick during the DevDays to discuss documentation on drupal.org.

If you have comments or suggestions, please see the DocWG home page for how to contact us. Thanks!

Sorry... because this is posted in the Core group as well as Documentation, comments are disabled.
