I just noticed this group: http://groups.drupal.org/beginner-documentation because someone started cross posting to the (recently opened) main docs group: http://groups.drupal.org/documentation-team
I'm not sure who's actually keeping tabs on this beginner docs group, but I wonder if it wasn't created because of the main docs group having been closed to posting prior to a month or so ago. Anyhow, it seems pretty redundant and the docs team aren't monitoring it as far as I know, so I'm thinking it'd be nice to merge it into the main docs group.
Opinions? Would existing members be ok with this? (Moshe?)

As far as I know, that group
As far as I know, that group was created long before the documentation team group existed on g.d.o and was meant to be a place to work on docs to be moved into the handbooks. I agree that there should not be two separate groups and as far as I can see, the original work group idea behind that one has been defunct for a long time. Not sure what would be entailed in merging them, but I'd be for it.

Ah mystery solved! Greggles
Ah mystery solved!
Greggles made it sound like it was no big deal, so I'm assuming it's basic OG behaviour, ie. when you delete a group, it gives you the choice of what to do with the group's nodes, and one of the options is to assign them to another group.
So as long as people are cool with that, I don't imagine it's too difficult.
Can you or should I?
I can delete the group and move content over to docs group.
If you could
If you could do it, that would be great. I'm not even sure I have the privs anymore.

seems like a "go"
We've basically hit the 2 week mark and nobody has voiced opposition to this action. So, I think it's ready to go and will merge them now.
