Problems installing OpenPublish 2.0 on XAMPP

I am having problems installing OpenPublish 2.0 on XAMPP with php5.2.9.

I get the followwing error, and I don't know where to go from here:

... and yes I have successfully run drupal on xammp recently.

If you look at the "Technical Requirements" link listed on the OpenPublish download page you will see the following:

If you are still having problems (seeing "white screens of death" or errors during installation) try setting:

* max_execution_time to around 120 and
* realpath_cache_size to 512K, 1M or even 2M.
* max_input_time to around 120.

It is essential to fix these parameters in your php.ini file before running the install. All installation profiles are resource intensive and need more time to execute.

You'll find the file at: xampp/apache/bin/php.ini

Also, in my .htaccess I have the following:

OpenPublish now has more time

OpenPublish now has more time to load, but I still get the same results.

FIRST:
1. modified php.ini in xampp, and added to .htaccess in openpublish as per your suggestions
2. started xampp
3. moved openpublish folder to hotdocs
3. settings.php is already in the download file, so I don't need to copy default.setings.php
4. chmod not required as on localhost
5. type http://localhost/openpublish

Same result:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 180 seconds exceeded in C:\xampp\htdocs\openpublish\includes\file.inc on line 907
 

SECOND:
Then moved openpublish to Acquia Drupal Stacker (editing the php.ini file) and got the same result.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 300 seconds exceeded in C:\Users\Adam\Sites\openpublish\includes\file.inc on line 907

THIRD:
Uploaded to shared hosting with exactly the same result as its resource hungry (issue mentioned here: http://drupal.org/node/446636).

*** Maybe my computer (old dell pentium M with 1gig ram, windows 7, google chrome) doesn't have enough grunt, or I've done something wrong ... ? ...

on Windows machines it's very important to make sure that "realpath_cache_size 2M" is set properly. Can you, please, create a PHP file with

<?php
 phpinfo(); 
?>

line in it, access it via web server and check that all required variables, including realpatch_cache_size are being set?

i have the same problem, then i changed the realpath_cache_size 2M and max_execution_time 600 but when access it via web server it appear with its default value with no changes what i do ?:(

Try increasing max_execution_time. It is currently set to 300 and your error shows the same that 300 is exceeded.

Thankyou everyone. Works with max_execution_time=600. Reached the setup page and apparently I just need to update my GD image library to to continue (using xampp1.7.1 as it has php5.2.9).
