Here's what's coming up for this June 9th meeting in the Balboa Park Hall Of Champions:
We'll have a Sandcamp planning meeting at the Prado down the street from the Meeting to discuss Sandcamp 2011 planning for anyone interested in helping out with Sandcamp, read more.
For the first part of the meeting, Andrew Root Will be talking about Features, Context and Versioning. We've talked about context before, and touched a little bit on how to roll contexts into features, but this time we'll be getting into advanced feature building. I'll show you how to blur the line between features and modules, and even get into some best practices for how to make your features really portable. If time permits, we might even touch on feature servers and distribution techniques with a pinch of drush.
We'll also do a good round of Lightning Talks. Lightning talks give anyone (and I mean anyone - you, the person next to you and the one across the room) the chance to discuss a recent Drupal thought, observation, or experience that takes five minutes or less to talk about. You can teach us something, wonder out loud why X doesn't work like you think it should, or ask questions about some Drupally thing you're struggling to understand. The only rule for Lightning Talks is that you're going to be stopping at five minutes whether you're done or not. Other than that's it's fair game, so step up and have fun!
Newcomers are always welcome, bring any of your friends that might be interested in learning about Drupal. We hope to see you on Wednesday at the Balboa Park Hall of Champions.
