Namespace collision?
A little disappointed in this. Your roadmap includes a reference to "open drupal curriculum".
I have posted to this group before I believe about my ideas regarding a "drupal open curriculum" which I've started a home for at http://gitorious.org/drupal-open-curriculum.
Would you consider changing that? What you seem to be describing as "open drupal curriculum" does not talk about producing any actual courses as far as I can see. Curriculum is defined as "A program of courses to be taken in pursuit of a degree or other objective." so shouldn't an "open drupal curriculum" actually have as a goal the production of useful courses?
Hmm on second thought disregard my comment
Let's see where things go...
The initiative hopes to facilitate curriculum production
Appreciate the input, Peter. A big reason why we're drafting the initiative in the open is because it's meant to be driven by and for the community. I'll be the first to admit there's a good deal that needs to be clarified. Largely because a lot of the original drafts are by me..haha.
In terms of your concerns, we need to clarify that we're trying to 'facilitate' the production of an Open Drupal curriculum. We hope that Drupal Kata can be a place for stakeholders to collaborate and raise funds if needed. Drupal Dojo can be one place where curriculum can be housed and curated.
Personally, I think the project you started (http://gitorious.org/drupal-open-curriculum) makes a great deal of sense for curriculum production and I hope the DOLI initiative can help direct resources.
We'll touch on this more during the chat.

Recapping the Learning Drupal Chat held 2010-09-17
We discussed the Drupal Open Learning Initiative especially Project-based Learning for Drupal, ie the Drupal Kata.
We attempted to shed some light on the vision for the Kata which includes the development of collaborative tool set for learning projects which we hope will eventually be expanded to include tools for fundraising, project management, and collaborative development of: learning-projects (ranging from themes to installation profiles), documentation, learning resources, lessons, and best practices. (http://drupalopenlearning.org/drupal-kata)
We touched on:
• the roadmap (http://drupalopenlearning.org/roadmap) where we are attempting to prioritize DOLI efforts;
• Drupal Open Curriculum (http://gitorious.org/drupal-open-curriculum)
• the efforts of the Curriculum working group (http://groups.drupal.org/node/15975) as they explore mapping Drupal competencies to Drupal Learning and pointed people to IDCM’s proposed specifications for a Competency System (http://groups.drupal.org/node/81754) and the potential of moving forward with the development of a new module to catalog learning materials (http://drupalkata.com/drupaldojo/casetracker);
• Drupal Guilds (http://groups.drupal.org/guilds)
• the progress in developing the next version of the DrupalDojo.com (http://drupalkata.com/drupaldojo/)
• potential Kata based learning projects - (http://drupalkata.com/program/node/576)
