Hi,
I have been following the progress of the media module with great interest, seen the few demo videos and so on. From what I have seen, media module will be a great foundation for media management in Drupal.
Unfortunately the publicly available information is quite sparse so its not easy to get an idea of what its current status is. Now when Drupal 7 has reached beta state it would be real interesting to know a bit more about what is happening with it, especially if the developers has any idea of when they think a public dev/alpha version might be ready for us mere mortals to start testing it.
I have several projects I am working on that will be built in Drupal 7 and being able to use the media module as quick as possible, even if its just for images to start with, would be great.
I would be very grateful for some form of summary about the project status.

still wondering about current status..
I would be great to hear any news from the project group about the Media status..
Media project is so promising and obscure at the same time..
