Saturday December 3rd on the glorious campus of OSU you will join Drupalers from all over as we learn more about Drupal and how it's rocking the web!

We have some seriously cool announcements to make but we need to sure things up and get our stuff together. ARGGGHH! i can hardly stand it! :-)
OSU as 1st choice but we have been looking into other options

Some of us have been making the early beginnings of getting a DrupalCamp for Columbus this year.
Efforts to get into OSU have been unsuccessful to date.
I will be speaking at my 20th Drupal Camp in a few weeks and of those 20 only 5 have NOT been at a university. 2 of those 5 were at private instructional facilities.
I'm reaching out to any of the OSU Alumni, Staff, or Students who can facilitate getting the camp onto the OSU campus. If you can help, either reply to me directly OR here to the whole group.
Drupal Drop-In
Drupal Drop-in is an opportunity to work on your Drupal projects and connect with other Drupal users in an informal setting. This can be an ideal opportunity for newbies to learn, for more advanced users to share, and for new collaborations to develop.
Please bring a Drupal project to work on. Take advantage of the open setting to raise questions and to discuss best practices, "how-to's," or ways of finding information related to the task you are working on.
Have a coffee or snack, code, collaborate, ask questions and offer solutions.

Come down and help others, work on your own projects, learn something new, ask questions, drink coffee, code... It will be good to see you. DrupalCamp Columbus 2011 at OLF CANCELLED
Cancelled
Due to a miscommunication between me and the OLF organizers this event is not taking place.
Once the OLF team turns their attentions towards 2012 we will regroup and submit a timely, well prepared proposal that meets all of their requirements.
My sincere thank you goes out to the OLF team for their efforts to try and squeeze us in at the last minute. We'll do this right next time and stand a better chance of making it in. Understandably, everyone wants to get in on the fun at OLF. I look forward to helping make this happen next year!

Intro to Panels
The Panels module provides control and ease-of-use in laying out content on your site's pages: allowing you to design custom layouts (or use pre-built ones) and drag-and-drop content onto the regions of that layout. Panels overcomes many of the limitations in Drupal core's blocks and theme layout systems, and allows you to, for example, easily create multi-region home pages, or override system pages like nodes and taxonomy listings.

This will be a hands-on, one-on-one-ish workshop for setting up Drupal. Because “Everyone in the group should have at least one Drupal site to play with!”.
We'll briefly go through process for installing Drupal (probably both 6 and 7,) then help everyone who wants to install Drupal on their local machine or remote server, (bring a laptop if you've got one.)
Those comfortable with the install process will help those new to it.
