This group serves as a means to discuss paths in Drupal and specifically the Pathauto and URLify modules. The modules all have similar but different functionality and discussions frequently overlap the modules.
I addition to the issue queue, this group serves as a place to discuss new features and changes in functions of the modules.
Finally, this group serves as a means of alerting users to updates in the modules. If you sign up you can expect to get an email from the Pathauto and URLify module maintainers if/when there is significant news in the development of their modules such as the release of a new version or a security update.
Pathauto Specifically for Pathauto the main area that is most up to date for news and changes to pathauto will probably always be the Issue Queue.
Renaming node: old URL is gone
Hello guys.
I'm using Pathauto with Global Redirect, but there is an issue that they don't solve.
Let's say I have a node and after some time I decide to change its name. Then I go and change its URL to fit the new name, Pathauto doesn't do that so I just uncheck Automatic alias and change its URL.
The problem is that the node remains with the old URL, I don't know why it is not changed. And both old and new URLs return the same content, letting it duplicated.

Generating an alias for all tabs on a node
I'm currently implementing multiple tabs on different types of content nodes. It really bugs me to keep the tab links as node/%/tabname instead of using alias/%/tabname. I've not been able to find a solution to this and my attempts to create a module or addition to Pathauto have also come to necessity.

It's too big. Great. What can we do to slim it down and make it more useful?
- Create separate bulk generate page
- Use progressive disclosure for pattern settings
- Make tokens easier to find/add
- Create a new "Pathauto Advanced" module and
- Move the entire punctuation settings to it

I have both Pathauto and Event Repeat installed.
It seems that when I update a repeating event set (either the entire set, or just future occurrences) all the Pathauto created url aliases get deleted except that last one.
I've tried all three "Update action" settings in the Pathauto module and still no luck. Any ideas?
Example:
Event Set
Event A : has alias
Event B : has alias
Event C : has alias
After an update, all aliases except for Event C are gone.
Event A : no alias
Event B : no alias
Event C : has alias
New 6.x Releases on the Horizon
So, Freso and I have had some discussion about what bugs should be fixed prior to a 6.x-2 branch and what should go in after. I wanted to do a little more to keep track of this state (and also give people a little advanced warning that a 6.x-1.1 is about to be released so that you can help test it).
Edit 2008, Sep 30: It's that time again - time for 6.x-1.2 and 5.x-2.4 to be released soon since this was a relatively nasty bug that I think was behind a lot of problems that people were having...

If you don't have Update Status to tell you about it then you've got me ;)
The glorious Path Redirect module just releates 5.x-1.2 which fixed a nasty infinite loop bug (a bug which Pathauto triggered pretty often). So, if you use one or both of these modules I encourage you to upgrade now.
