A group to discuss the use of Drupal for a photography website
anyone following the promising image module 6.x-dev issues/patches?
I'm trying to put together a site to display my family's photos... Thousands of them currently on my computer organized in folders by year with subdirectories by month then subdirectories by day... Anyway, has anyone been following the issues/patches for the 6.x dev branch of the images module?
Especially promising for me is the patch to maintain the directory structure and great sub galleries based on the directories. And also the patch to integrate thickbox and pageing.
I can't decide if I should use a drupal 6 with images and those patches!!!
Any thought?
Read moreAdding images to taxonomy terms to create fancy custom taxonomy menu
There is a tutorial up at alldrupalthemes explaining how to "create and awesome looking taxonomy menu, using Imagecache, Taxonomy Image, Views, and some SQL."

This seems like a good feature to implement in a photo gallery.
Read moreNavigating multiple taxonomies
Hi,
I am using CCK, Imagefield and Views to create the galleries on my website, and basing the galleries on terms (taxonomy) with some image-nodes having multiple terms. However setting up a navigation system is proving very difficult for me.
Have anybody here had any luck creating a decent way to navigate multiple taxonomies?
(Detailed description of problem: http://drupal.org/node/192020 , but no answers .. )

Modifying Standard Image Gallery
Hello,
I have set up an image gallery using CCK/Views (and the other modules described in that tutorial) with fair results here:
http://vfamilycoffee.com/gallery
But it leaves me actually wishing that I could just modify the "standard" image content type-based gallery instead, as I like everything about the way it works except for one thing:
- Why, oh why, when you click into an image doesn't it take you to a Pager-type scenario where you can click forward and backward through the other images in that gallery??
Show off your Drupal photo gallery!
I haven't got a photo gallery on Drupal yet but thinking seriously about it (I have some stuff on Flickr ready to move in), however I thought it would be very cool to have a list of all the Drupal photo galleries out there for the people who want to create a new one (like me) or just for the curious.
I decided to reuse Thilo's nicely formatted post about Gallery2 sites for collecting the main data (I hope you don't mind?). Don't forget to go update his post if you are using Gallery2 specifically.
Anybody that did not use Gallery2 for his Drupal photo gallery?
Looking forward to see your artwork!
Cheers,
Marc.
What modules are you using to create your photographic gallery?
Hi guys,
I have been looking through the list of modules many times over, I have found so many modules that can do media, gallery, image ... it is really puzzling.
I read the documentation for most of them, look at examples, read posts ... still I am not close to make a clear and informed decision.
So I am very curious to know what you are using for your photo gallery?
Cheers,
Marc.
Somewhat quiet
This group seems somewhat quiet to say the least. Is anyone actually using drupal to create a photography web site? I have to admit that at the moment I'm not, but I probably will sometime in the future.
