SODIG Meeting - March 27th, Sunday, 11:00AM-12:30PM @ The Beanery in Ashland

Start:
2011-03-27 11:00 - 12:30 America/Los_Angeles
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

Please come to our Southern Oregon Drupal Interest Group (SODIG). It would be nice if we could each prepare a 2-5 minute lightning talk to either introduce ourselves, prep the group on a topic, or share something valuable that is happening in the Drupal community. This is very informal and not required, but might be a productive way to share things with each other.

Drupal case studies and guidelines

Drupal case studies, guidelines and forward

I have benefited greatly from reverse review of production-site case studies in Drupal 6. I expect the same from Drupal 7 as more and more designers/developers start using version 7.

Current guidelines for how a case study can make it on the front page of Drupal (sites for review at the bottom of the page)

There are some interesting developments going on the in the Drupal world now.

  • Drupal Commerce or Ubercart for D7, or Magento? Yahoo, Amazon, or other store? What is working and not working?
  • Media Module updates -Jeff?
  • Drupal Distributions - when to use these vs. a "mix and match, build your own" approach.
  • Development Best Practices - git? cvs? svn? revision control systems? what, when, why, how?

The Drupal 7 environment is Great!

My experience and top-rating for D7,

When D6 first came out it was hard to find good comparisons of modules, hosting and integration. The Drupal devs learned from that. With D7 there is clear info available on every aspect that I have explored, and it is 99% functional... That is freakin' awesome!!!

Scheduling Monthly Meetups

Hey everyone,

Thanks to all those who came to our Drupal 7 release party. We had some fun and got to know each other a bit better. There's some possibilities in the air for working together, collaborating, and seeing the Drupal Ecosystem improve in our area.

How does the Drupal ecosystem improve? Its when we help each other and do community service on top of doing our day to day business affairs. Its when I know that helping you and helping you helps me. If we act this way, instead of hording, accumulating, and being fearful/oppositional, then we can all benefit.

Drupal 7 Release Party

Start:
2011-01-07 06:00 America/Los_Angeles
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

I would like to cordially invite anyone on the SODUG (Southern Oregon Drupal Users Group) to the Drupal 7 release party at the Blacksheep in Ashland this Friday at 6:00PM. We will have some kind of Drupal sign, so look for it! I proposed that we each give a 2 minute presentation about who we are and share something about our feelings or ideas for Drupal 7. If someone has a Drupal stuffed animal we could pass around that would be really cool. Anyhow, if you need anything or want to announce that you're coming, please give me a call at (541)708-1163.

Please post thoughts and ideas here, as it would be nice to see this happen.
