Pantheon Mercury GIT Worlflow help
Hi everybody, I'm brand spanking new to the world of Pantheon and just set up my first Pantheon / Mercury site on slicehost thanks to Greg Coit's great writeup.

A new screencast has been created and posted by joshk showing some of the features of the new version of Pantheon: http://getpantheon.com/news/pantheon-demonstration-screencast. The interface will be exclusive to the getpantheon.com service, but the functionality will be available to anyone who wants to use Pantheon, regardless if they make their own Pantheon server, or one of our pre-built AWS or Linode servers.

Background: The Drupal 6 site used to work very well on a VPS until a few months ago. However in order to reduce the server cost as well as to improve performance of the site even more, we decided to move to the cloud and Pantheon. We setup a pantheon server and moved a copy of the site on rackspacecloud and tested it using Jmeter with 1000 users and tested continuously for 4 hours and the load never went more than 1. The Jmeter report showed only .4% error(which was normal i think).

Hi,
I have installed pantheon on Ubuntu (lucid). But please note I have downgraded the php to 5.2.10 (karmic version) since the site was giving some errors with drupal 6.13.
Server softwares
Ubuntu Lucid
Apache/2.2.14
PHP 5.2.13 (cli)
Mysql 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3
Varnish-2.1
Mercury 1.1
The site is working good.. but from time to time load increases tremendously and server just hangs. Seems like php connections are not getting closed.

Thanks Greg for you instructions (no problems following them).
instance-store vs ebs
Recently, I began experimenting with ec2 using the Mercury/pressflow ami-e14c1da4. I then installed Aegir on my own before I saw macrocosm's excellent tutorial on how to go about things here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/55393. I didn't attaching any EBS drives, for example.
Now that I've installed Aegir, and my handful of sites, on their various platforms, I would like to keep all that configuration, and make it easy to backup.

Hi, I've set up a vps at linode with the current Mercury StackScript...it was easy and just worked. Fabulous and I'm stoked to keep going.
But I could use some education on how to know if the stack is performing properly. I'm examining this because in the next week or two it's likely my site is going to be slashdotted if an article comes out about the company on a major media outlet. Naturally, I don't want the site to go down as it did last time on my shared hosting provider. Not much point in getting good press if the site can't stay up.
Read moreVarnish not caching anonymous requests on my site
I just installed Mercury on Linode server, but Varnish doesn't cache pages on site I transferred there.
Steps I did during site transfer:
- copied modules and themes
- copied files
- imported database (didn't change settings.php as I used same database as in settings.php)
- run update.php
- enabled Varnish, Cookie cache bypass modules
Uninstalling Varnish
Varnish keeps on crashing on me, and since I have authcache and only one server, I'd rather not deal with it.
I removed it by apt-get remove varnish, and setting apache to port 80. Are there any other steps that I need to take to set the server to be like no varnish? What about the memory allocated to varnish in the bootscript, is that someone I'll need to clawback?
Thanks.
