BOA Mac Local Version - MAMP?

Hi

I currently run all my local Drupal sites off MAMP. Is there anything I need to consider when installing BOA? For example I'm unsure as to whether I need to delete MAMP first? Or does BOA run separately etc?

Thank you

Stephen

Free Lullabot videos on setting up local Drupal web server on OS X, Windows, and Ubuntu

A frequent topic in our Drupal classes and meetups is 'how do I work on my Drupal site on my own computer?' Sometimes you want to work on a site locally, before you've chosen a web host provider, or because you're just trying out some new techniques. Local development can be faster and more convenient than remote development, and once you've got a local toolkit together you can really fly with it.

A few months ago we had a Drupal 'installfest' meetup where we helped folks get Drupal installed on their own computers, and we'll cover it in our upcoming Drupal in Depth class. But Lullabot just posted a free video series designed to get you up and running with your local Drupal environment, whether you're on Mac OS X, Windows, or Ubuntu Linux.

So check out Three Local Web Servers videos from the inimitable expatriate and longtime Drupal training star Addi Berry.

MAMP, localhost and multi-site

I'm really hoping someone can help me get this right. I'm using MAMP on OX 10.6, have D7 in the htdocs folder in a floder called "civi".

I added a site folder at sites/devmydomain.org, plus folders for themes, modules and files.

Added the site.php file and added this line: $sites['devmydomain.org'] = 'devmydomain.org';

I've tried editing my private/etc/hosts with several paths with no change. If I should add a line, what should it be based on the above?

What happens is I go to http://localhost/civi/devmydomain.org, but I get redirected to http://localhost/civi/install.php

Openpublish on MAMP?

Hi there,

First, as I am a newbie, don't mind if my question seems to be basic. I am running a Drupal6x locally on my MAMP, with a Mac OS 10.3.9 (tiger). I don't have so much trouble with it, but I wanted to have also OpenPublish, which seems to fit more with my needs. No way : I just can't pass througt the first install stage, as if Open Publish would'nt accept a local installation. I get an "error" message, as if I were giving a wrong username or password, which is not the case (I'm using the same parameters as for Drupal, with just an openpublish_prefix, as told on the file).

Launching a locally created website. Databasing with Drupal. Migration of SQL data with drupal.

I am using MAMP and Acquia Dev Desktop Control Panel to manage and create websites locally (for clients).

We are establishing a new workflow/methodology in terms of how we launch our websites once they are completed. We would like to build everything locally, while synchronizing data on a hosting account (i.e. HostMonster.com, etc) if possible. How do we do that? (with the recommended workflow) Therefore, we can essentially launch everything on one command.

My question, that hopefully somebody can answer, what is the best way to accomplish this?

local computer, MAMP & Aegir ?

Hi everyone,

For local development, I thought having an Aegir setup would be helpful.

Is it possible to install Aegir on top of a fresh install of MAMP (osx)?

That way we could quickly install, upgrade different versions of Drupal locally for development purposes. Is there a "simple" step-by-step documentation do do this?

Thanks in advance,

.Sam.
