Creating new site results in root-level index page on server, not default site homepage

When I click the "Go there now" link after entering and submitting the basic site creation credentials, I am served up the index page on the root level of the server, and not the default home page for the site I just created. In addition to this, I am not getting the email I am supposed to get after successful site creation. Since I am not a server administrator, I can only speculate that the problem might have to do with permissions not being set correctly and/or paths are not set correctly in certain files (such as .htaccess or httpd.conf).

A bit of context:

Free Lullabot videos on setting up local Drupal web server on OS X, Windows, and Ubuntu

A frequent topic in our Drupal classes and meetups is 'how do I work on my Drupal site on my own computer?' Sometimes you want to work on a site locally, before you've chosen a web host provider, or because you're just trying out some new techniques. Local development can be faster and more convenient than remote development, and once you've got a local toolkit together you can really fly with it.

A few months ago we had a Drupal 'installfest' meetup where we helped folks get Drupal installed on their own computers, and we'll cover it in our upcoming Drupal in Depth class. But Lullabot just posted a free video series designed to get you up and running with your local Drupal environment, whether you're on Mac OS X, Windows, or Ubuntu Linux.

So check out Three Local Web Servers videos from the inimitable expatriate and longtime Drupal training star Addi Berry.

WAMP and Drush PHP ~ Why two?

WAMP installs PHP in a subdirectory of WAMP during the installation process. Installing Drush via http://drush.ws/drush_windows_installer also installs some kind of PHP in its subdirectory and "drush status" will show that it is using that php.ini file.

Why doesn't Drush just use the WAMP installed php files and WAMP's php.ini? Why do I need two php directories full of files? Can't I just use the WAMP php files for Drush, and if so, how?

General Error Setup on WAMP (IIS7)

We have Drupal 7 up and running on Windows IIS 7. But we are getting some errors right now that we are finding difficult to troubleshoot (they are not site wide, just specific to editing content types, and editing specific pieces of content).

These are internal server errors, but we have been unable to log these or get a more verbose error message to display. We've edited the php.ini and our web.config, but nothing seems to work.

How are people logging these in general, or how would you to get the a verbose error to display.

Thanks for your help

Building production WAMP server

Hello all,

I'm building a my first site with Open Atrium for a project at work. I am required to use a virtual Window server (Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2).

On the development side, I have downloaded WampServer (wampserver.com) on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit PC, and that seems to work just fine. However, I see plenty of warnings in various discussion groups NOT to use WampServer and similar stacks on production machines, presumably due to the way they are configured for ease of development and not so much for security, performance, etc.

wamp'ta drupal kurulum sorunsalı

Merhaba arkadaşlar. WAMP kullandığım bilgisayarda drupal'ı test etmek istiyorum. default.settings.php'yi filan ayarladım, db ayarlarına geldim. Doğru db ayarlarını giriyorum ama yine aynı sayfada kalıyorum, refresh yapmış gibi oluyorum yani. DB bilgilerini yanlış girdiğim zaman kırmızı renkle hata yazısını alıyorum. Nerede yanlış yapıyor olabilirim? Teşekkürler.
EDIT: Sorunu hallettim. PHP.ini'den upload_max_filesize yi 2 MB yerine 20MB yapınca sorun kalmadı.

From WAMP to web server

Sorry I couldn't join everyone tonight for the Madison group.

I'm building a site in Drupal and started on my local computer with WAMP Server. Now I need to move things to a real web server, and I don't want to start over from scratch.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this? I've got the Using Drupal book, but didn't find anything in there about it.

Thanks,

Anyone have a D6 WAMP Stack + APC (or other Op-Code Cache) Setup That Works?

I've had some tough luck trying to get APC (or any Op-Code Cacher) running on my WAMP stack with any sort of success. Ideally, I'd like to be running APC (most stable?) but in lieu of that I'd go with XCache or eAccellerator. Currently, when I enable APC, I am able to see that it is running via the APC.php script, but accessing my Drupal Site gives me a Fatal Error:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function db_set_active() in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Sites\acquia-drupal-site\acquia-drupal\includes\bootstrap.inc on line 1016"

installera drupal
