College catalog in Drupal?

We are looking for a new online catalog solution, perhaps one that will not require an API to integrate with our D7 web site.

Has anyone created their catalog or bulletin in Drupal?

If so,

  • How did it go?
  • Can you provide a link to your catalog?
  • Did you do it in-house or have outside help?
  • Were there any modules that were a particular help?
  • Any Drupal development companies you want to mention?

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions...

New library website in Drupal: North Dakota State University Libraries

I recently completed the migration of the North Dakota State University Libraries website from WordPress to Drupal. I was new to Drupal when I started, and the migration and design team was me, so the team didn't really know what it was doing for a while. :)

Low turn out of college professors

Why there are very less number of college professors/lecturers from India joining drupal groups? If quality of education(especially in India) needs to improve, I think they should be more thronging into open source groups like in drupal groups.

Any ideas to make this happen?

Regards
Babu

Programmes and Courses Catalogue

I want to create a programmes and courses catalogue. To achieve this I am thinking these steps :

  1. Create a content type which contains the programme's details and named it Programme, eg. Bachelor of Engineering.
  2. Create another content type which refer the programme as a parent and named it Course, eg. Electronics Lab.
  3. Add another reference where the course have dependencies with another course, eg. Electronics Methodologies (a dependency of Electronics Lab)

Is there any module for this or any other way?

Looking for a Drupal "Evangelist"

I work for Georgia State University as a web developer. We are currently in the process of evaluating new CMS options, as our current CMS is outdated and approaching the end of its product life. Drupal has been proposed as an option, and I am a strong advocate of it. However, there are some major concerns with whether it is "robust enough", "secure", and other such things. The webmasters and IT folk are requesting that we have a "sales rep" from each vendor come and make a presentation. However, as Drupal is an open source system, that's going to be pretty challenging.
