Are you passionate about Drupal? Would you like to volunteer for the Drupal Association? Do you have skills that can help promote Drupal in new frontiers? Help organize events locally, regionally and globally?

If you answer yes to all the above, then the association is holding its second annual elections shortly. The deadline for applications is one day away. Applications are due by end of day tomorrow (February 10, 2009).

Funding Usability and d.o. Redesign Work

Making Drupal easier to find, assess and use seem like good fits for the Knight Drupal Initiative.

We all know that there will be a lot of work to do in the redesign, both for theming as well as module development. How about lining up funding for sustained development time and perhaps things like hosted d.o. redesign sprints?

Funding ideas and proposals

Moving this 'dojo issue' out for hopefully a bit more 'meta' discussion.

Google Highly Open Participation Contest (GHOP) (and Summer of Code) have proven how successful tasks and projects can be for both learning and as a way to contribute back to Drupal. We seem to be hung up on the 'if/how/who' issues when it comes to real money.

Once again, GHOP and the Drupal association could serve as a template.

Drupal Store / Drupal Shop - for Drupal Association

Hello fellow Drupalers,

Bence (http://groups.drupal.org/user/13320) has a point. Ironically I was on IRC tonight storming up this idea with amazon and webchick. Personally, the whole thought stemmed from wanting a Drupal coffee mug as a gift, much like http://buytaert.net/drupalcino. After asking around on IRC I was informed Boris has a site on cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com/drupal). That storefront should be on Drupal.org to generate more sales etc leading to a bit more funding for Drupal Association.
