Share Taxonomy between groups?

I was wondering how gdo is setup and if it's technically feasible to share taxonomy between "some" groups? I think geographic groups in particular would benefit from this.

Autopath for site-wide taxonomy terms; display them in view

I'm sure this has come up before, but I didn't see it mentioned, so sorry if this is a repeat. I have two requests:

  1. Could site-wide taxonomy terms be given user-friendly auto paths? (e.g., howto = taxonomy/howto instead of taxonomy/term/1084

  2. Could we have a view displaying all sitewide tags, in case I want to see what's in use and browse related posts?

Help with Taxonomy please?

HELP!? I am a non-developer who is working on a social networking / social bookmarking niche community site that has a very large list of cross-referenced (or cross-listed) tiered categories. We want our members to be able to easily find what they're looking for and classify what they add/save on the site by drilling down through a tiered hierarchy. This means that a lot of data will need to be cross-listed (automatically).

Some way to relate parent and child taxonomy terms

Hi,

I'm trying to build a site that keeps track of all Drupal modules and their versions across a lot of sites I'm running, kind of a bookkeeping/housekeeping site, rather than a spreadsheet. So far I've created a content type called "Site" that has a "Modules" taxonomy.

However I'm stuck on how to create the "Module Version" taxonomy.

When I add a content type "Site" I can choose multiple modules but not the version of those modules. I can choose multiple modules from the module taxonomy dropdown but not apply a version to that.

tagging like facebook 'interests'?

i'm working on social networking site and currently trying to figure out a way to create something similar to facebook's "interests" section. (ex. i type in a comma separated list of my interests and they show up in my profile as links to a search query of ppl with that interest.)

it seems that "tagging" oneself with interests can automatically provide links to the taxonomy term corresponding to the interest, and there are lot of taxonomy modules to provide addt'l functionality...but i have a few questions:

Views2 and Taxonomy

This is my first post to the Drupal Dojo, so please forgive me if I sound like a noob. This is only because I am :)

I'm working on a Drupal6 site where I have created a vocabulary, the terms of which are product categories. The terms I've used have a nested structure and there are certain terms that have no nodes, only other terms, within them.

I can create a view that returns all products grouped by taxonomy term (http://www.cibus.co.th/pricelist) - that's the easy part.

My problem/s:

How can you set Default catogories on the fly?

Is there a way I can set a default term for the "node add" form?

Here is my problem:

1.When a user first comes to a site they pick a geographic location which is taxonomy term for the "Location" vocabulary.
2.That term id is stored as a session variable.
3. The user later clicks a link to add a node, which also has the "Location" vocabulary .
4. I want the "Location" vocabulary to default to the term that is stored in their session.
5. they should still be able to change the term.

I am also using the Hierarchy Select Module.

problem with AND and OR in taxonomy: no difference

I am experiencing the following problem: there is no difference in outcome when I specifiy

  • /taxonomy/term/7,80
  • /taxonomy/term/7+80

The result is the same list of nodes.

This is also an issue discussed on the Taxonomy Browser support request pages: http://drupal.org/node/305749
Specifying "and" or "all" on the TB settings page doesn't make a difference.

However, I just found out that I get the same problem when creating the URLs as above which makes me wonder if the problem is TB related or something else.

Problem with thousands of pages made by refine by taxonomy and search engines

I enabled the module: refine by taxonomy, http://drupal.org/project/refine_by_taxo a while back and didn't think much about it until I discovered in Google Webmaster Tools that it produced some 50.000 additional pages which of-course was indexed by Googlebot !

My site has some 6.500 nodes at the time being covering politics in Denmark with the option for 12 taxonomies on each refine by taxonomy page. I have some 500 taxonomies defined. Refine by taxonomy is currently only avialable on Drupal 5.x

Categories/Taxonomy Question - parent and child terms

I'm working with a few groups of instructors on sites that facilitate lesson plan creation, sharing, and discussion.

We're using the categories module to create several vocabularies like the following:

* Syllabii
* Course Calendars
* Sequence 1 (4)
* Sequence 2
* Sequence 3 (2)
* Themes (2)
      o Art (1)
