Drush quickstart command line: create database with specific name

Hi Mike and all - first off thank you for Quickstart. It simplified things a lot and it was a great help.

I have a question on drush quickstart-create command line. I couldn't find any documentation on how to create a database with a name different from the domain name.

Example: domain name=example.dev database name=mydatabase1

Is this at all possible?

Thanks in advance

Conference Organizing Distribution and Quickstart

My original post in the COD group: http://groups.drupal.org/node/178594

Essentially, I would like to test COD using Quickstart as my local dev environment. I have Quickstart installed successfully, and now, I'm trying to figure out how to use COD instead of the vanilla Drupal core to create a new site in Websites. I've read "drush help qc" for hints and searched drupal.org but haven't found anyone who has specifically used these two together.

Quickstart and COD

I am attempting to install COD in a Quickstart environment but am a little lost as to how to get that done. I have successfully gotten the Quickstart environment setup in VirtualBox, and I understand how to create a vanilla Drupal 6 or 7 install. I've also downloaded the latest version of COD from the usecod.com site.

Quickstart 0.9.1 and Ubuntu 11.04: The scary untested update path!

Hi, I hope your finding Quickstart useful if you're getting this :-)

I am behind on my plans for QS 1.0, but that's life in open source. I did get a chance to test out the upgrade process in Ubuntu from 10.10 to 11.04.

Having horrible time with Quickstart

I've had really bad experiences with VirtualBox and data loss in the past. So I was really uneasy about using Quickstart with VirtualBox. I tried to convert it to a VMWare image with no luck. So finally I just took a fresh QS ova and started using it with a fresh VirtualBox 4.0.4 (hadn't used it since v.3.)

I spent all day yesterday getting setup, installing AFP, configuring Durpal, setting up SVN. I left the VM running all night and until now. I came back to it an hour ago and was immediately getting mysql errors.

The first error I got was on the site:

Quickstart 0.8 and Drupal 7

Hello,

I just finished a move to Austin TX and started to work with Drupal 7 in Quickstart.

QS 0.8 can install D7 using drush like this:
drush qc all --domain=powma.dev

If you change the ~/websites/default.make file like this:
api = 2
core = 7.x
projects[drupal][version] = 7.0-beta2

(add more modules here)

I think D7 includes an automated installer, so hopefully I can figure out how to remove the manual install step from the drush command.

Anyone have any other tips or suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

Ideas for Quickstart 0.9?

Whew! It's been a hectic couple of weeks, but things are starting to settle down. I'm moving to Austin TX in a couple weeks and I'm excited to be starting a Drupal-based business.

Today Ubuntu released it's new version Ubuntu 10.10 which I'm also excited to try out, and got me thinking about the next version of Quickstart.

What would make Quickstart more useful to you?

I'm interested in Aegir, and want to fix the current install script.

Quickstart 0.8 released

Hello,

For your coding pleasure, we present: Quickstart 0.8 (bittorrent link).

Quickstart is a downloadable virtual machine, containing a pre-configured Ubuntu Linux PHP development environment. Develop and debug LAMP natively, on any computer, without hassle.

QS 0.8 includes updates and bug fixes to QS 0.7. If you're already using QS 0.7, below is a script that will make the bug fixes.

QS 0.8 was also used to make the HOWTO videos on the Quickstart YouTube channel: step debugging, performance profiling, simple email debugging, etc.

What's next for the project? Not quite sure, but I'd love some feedback on how it's being used, and what features or HOWTO videos would be useful.

I hope you find it useful, and thanks for whatever you do for open source,

Mike
