DrupalCon London - FAO Jake
Hi Jake,
I'm looking forward to my first DrupalCon and to meeting you in London.
I'm faced with a dilema though. Your session clashes with the one for Drupal Commerce, which I am also keen to attend.
Having spent the last six months working closely with Omega, I'm inclined to go to the Commerce session, but in doing so will miss your words on 'mobile first' and Omega Tools, about which I'm keen to learn more.

I'm styling a horizontal menu in User Bar First region.
How do I align each list element with the grid in a general way that would still hold good if the containing grid was changed later?
Additional Region Classes, Additional zone classes? How do I use these
Hi All,
I've looked everywhere in the documentation and can't find an example of this.
Under Zone and Region config blocks there's a form that says "Additional Zone/Region Classes - You can quickly add custom CSS classes to your zone here."
This looks like it might really help me but for the life of me I can't figure out how to use this.
How does this work? Am I supposed to add a full css style description? Just a class name? And if it's just a class name - where do I define the styles?

For those of you that may not know, and have yet to vote, I wanted to take a quick minute to post about the DrupalCon London session I've proposed for discussing Omega 3.x, and all the amazing enhancements that have gone in so far, and those which are still on the horizon.

I've just been reading through Parker, et al, Designing with Progressive Enhancement, and I'm wondering if anyone else has considered if a similar approach might be implemented in Drupal (D7 in particular)?
Read moreOmega css theming - diagram suggestion
Hey folks, I am fairly new to Drupal theming and even newer to Omega. That said, I have seen that Omega is clearly the way forward and I have invested much time in learning the system so far. My appreciation to Jake and others who have worked so hard to date.
One area where I struggle with though, is with general ccs layout. Yes I know it is very logical and intuitive and for that I'm thankful. However, as a relative newbie to css I find myself spending 'literally hours' messing about with Firebug trying to discover which div regions and classes effect my content.
Read moreIntroducing an adaptive layout into Omega
I want to start this discussion because of a conversation that came up today in the #drupal-omega IRC room.
The idea is to introduce a completely restructured layout/presentation architecture into Omega incorporating the mobile-first method, and using @media-queries in order to adjust/alter presentation for other screen sizes.

Rather than request a new feature everytime I come up with a new concept I wanted to start a more helpful discussion to see how designers and developers work or the processes people go through when creating a theme and why they choose one design over another.

Hey all,
It's been a while since I've talked about the Omega theme, and recently (less than a week ago) I've started working on the roadmap for the future of Omega (http://drupal.org/project/omega). This will be the 7.x-2.0 branch of Omega.
As there are/have been quite a few users in the NH group that are using Omega, or have at the very least, tested it out, I'd like the chance to run my roadmap (full of screenshots and slides) to demonstrate my vision, and obtain some feedback, and additional features that might be very beneficial...
Read moreContext-based Menus
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how I would go about creating a simple context-based menus system using side-by-side sidebars as in this site: walterbernarddesign.com
The intended usage would play out like the example on this page: walterbernarddesign.com/ourwork/newspapers/barrons
I'm sure there must be a relatively straight-forward solution for doing something like this, but so far it escapes me.
