Responsive theme for Greatveganathletes.com

Hi everyone,

Thanks for letting me join the group.

I run www.greatveganathletes.com along with a small but crack team of volunteers :)

The site has sucked on mobile for ages and I'm finally able to move it to a responsive theme. I've found a few myself but was wondering if there were any that people would recommend given what we are trying to?

Every month we send about 400-500 people to vegankit.com to learn more about becoming vegan :)

Thanks for your time and thoughts!
Peter K

Preferred Responsive D7 base themes

Hey peoples,

I'm about to start working on a new theme for a client of mine. I do have some experience creating my own themes and modifying themes developed by others, however this will be my first attempt at creating a Responsive Drupal 7 theme.

The client is working with a designer who has sold them on a site that needs to work similar to this one: http://ffc.com/.

My question - what is the preferred base theme for a D7 Responsive site? I know there are a lot of base themes out there so I appreciate this groups suggestions for which ones are easier to start with.

Rearranging panel panes based on screensize

Im creating a site using the Omega theme due to my site having to be responsive.

I needs some input though on how to setup the site based on screensize.

I'm setting up my pages with Panels. Is it possible to rearrange the panel panes as the screen size changes?

I know that I can make the regions rearrange based on weight as the screen changes and I also know how to do that. My question is:

Can I make single panel panes change from one "region" to another "region" as the screensize changes?

Drupal Commerce Kickstart 2 Cart View not 100% responsive

The cart view (module Views generated) on my sandbox site of Drupal Commerce Kickstart 2 is not 100% responsive. It does fine down to mobile phone landscape, but that is it's down re-size limit. At mobile phone portrait some text breaks out of its' barrier (see attachment).

Does anybody have a suggestion how to make that view behave well with mobile phone portrait? Is it a CSS issue or can the view (module Views settings) be adjusted?

Omega 4 & XHTML

I was using Omega at work, now I have to start a new project and I would like to start using Omega 4.
The problem is that here, in Italy, laws on accessibiliy forbid the use of html5, I've to use XHTML.

The question is: is there a way to "transform" omega html5 to xhtml? Simply editing tpls is not enough.

Make colorbox responsive

Hey,

this is not an Omega related question. But since a lot of discussions here are circling around responsiveness and as I did not get any reaction from the colorbox issue cue (http://drupal.org/node/1905072), I thought I might as well ask my question here.

In an Omega theme, I would like to make my images to be responsive while opening all of them in a colorbox slideshow gallery.

You can see it in action here: http://wohnservice.staging.einstern.at/wohnservice/projekt/annagasse-45-...

Take Responsive Design Beyond Media Queries

Good video by Brad Frost. 74% of mobile visitors will abandon a site if it takes more than 5 seconds to load.

Ideas for February Seacoast meeting

How about a discussion of design principles with adaptive/responsive in mind. Or just design principles and best practices in general.

Another thing I could use some help with is a hands on session on updating core and modules, particularly when core is SO out of date that updated modules won't play nice with it. I have an example site that is still on Drupal 7.6, and a straight update update has been problematic (especially the Date module). Maybe we could troubleshoot it, if people think they could learn from seeing that done.
