Any node.js experts out there who could help us?
Hi,
I run a small nonprofit in Vermont dedicated to helping kids learn how to express themselves well. We are nearing completion of the beta version of our new teen writing community and have one last hope and wish: That we can make Statuses (Facebook-style Statuses in D6) refresh in real time on both ends of the spectrum -- author and reader.

Hi all,
I've submitted the first version of the mean module which is used by us (@linnovate) to decouple the front and the back of our drupal/mean hybrid applications.
You can find it at http://drupal.org/project/mean
The main idea is to have the drupal (through the module) package several jsons together which will be used by the mean installation which is actually delivering the page.
Tell us what you think (see you in the issue queues :)
Opeka: New Node.js based chat module under development
We are working on an open-source counseling chat module for D7, based on Node.js and NowJS. The Opeka chat module is primarily meant for counseling, but could be customized for other uses.
Features:
- 1-to-1 chat
- Group chat
- Queue system
- Ban IP and whisper option for priviledged users
- And more...
It is still in development, but we are getting closer to a stable release. The documentation is sparse, but growing.

Saludos,

Read moreBest method for installing Nginx + Drupal + node.js
I'm tasked here at work to set up a server that Drupal can act as the front end to some stuff we are doing with node.js
I was wondering if on with ubuntu 10.04 lts server I would first set up nginx + mysql + php-fpm and get drupal up and running then work on installing node.js , im going to assume and one should never but this should be semi straight forward.
Anything special I need to do that people who have gone down this route would suggest..
Can I run them both on the same server or should i separate them both?
cheers..

i'm planning to release node.js module as a 1.0 in the next 4 weeks or so.
soooo, i'm doing some of the 'really should be fixed before 1.0' tasks. this includes:
- moving a bunch of stupidly-hard-coded url settings from server.js into nodejs.config.js, and documenting them all in nodejs.config.example.js
- properly prepending a basePath to all http methods so auth will work as expected for non-default urls
- not allowing server.js to run with a blank serviceKey by default
- renaming 'backendSettings' to 'settings'
- getting rid of references to 'Drupal'

I've been working a lot on my collaborative learning website. It has a rather rich feature set now. (If people are interested, I can try to get some kind of distro out...)
