Pressflow / Varnish - Removed Google Analytics cookies still stopping response header 'age'?
Currently using Drupal 6 / Pressflow on Apache with Google Analytics installed. We have Varnish 2.1.5 running on port 80 in front of Apache.
In the attached Varnish VCL (based on Lullabot's example - http://www.lullabot.com/articles/varnish-multiple-web-servers-drupal), I have (probably redundant) regex filtering Google Analytics cookies, as well as a general 'remove all cookies except sessions' rule in sub vcl_recv.
Read moreGoogle Analytics not displaying Drupal.org referral traffic
Hi,
We get quite some traffic from drupal.org to our website. Some time back we noticed that traffic from d.o or groups.d.o reduced to zero. Initially we thought there might be no traffic coming. But then we figured even on purposely clicking our link from d.o, Google Analytics does not show the referral as drupal.org, instead classifies it as 'organic'
This led us to conclude that we must be getting traffic but its not getting classified under referral from drupal.org. The traffic died from June 1 last year.
How is this possible? And what is the solution?
Read moremodule to count redirects in Google Analytics
I wrote an extension for the Redirect module that sends page views to GA using PHP, so no page load is required in a browser. I haven't been able to find another module that works this way, but I think it might be useful for people that need to manage redirects and capture users hitting those URLs.
Does anyone know if there is a module around already that does this? Or, if not, would anyone find it useful?
Read morepiwik vs. google analytics?
I noticed many/most of you (us?) seem to use Google Analytics. Have any of you been using Piwik and have any insight into how/why you made that choice? Aside from the local vs. cloudsource nature, any salient feature differences that swayed your decision?
Thanks,

New Google Analytics Ecommerce module
Hi,
I have released a new module called Google Analytics Ecommerce, allowing associate tracking ecommerce with the creation and updating of nodes, so you can turn any website into an ecommerce store in google analytics. It is in active development right now, but any test and feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

To do the same we will need to take small steps in the way drupal.org code is rendered as detailed below:
Google Analytics 3.0 Module funkiness
Brian,
You are widely known as the Google Analytics guru. We're using 6.x-3.0 http://drupal.org/node/921000 and the stats aren't what I expected. Usually GA either works or it doesn't. It is tracking, but comparing the stats to Apache logs, there is a HUGE discrepancy in the numbers - more than we can account for using our filters ( internal company IP traffic and staging site traffic ).
Here's what we've done that isn't standard:
1) Added filters for corporate traffic and to exclude staging sites

My apologies in advance if this has been answered somewhere already.
I did a few searches and found a couple of threads that might be related.

About me: I'm a PhD student at the University of Michigan School of Information, with a research focus on designing recommender systems. I'm also a Drupal fan, and have been using Drupal and developing for Drupal for 3 years. Last year I participated in GSoC 2009 and developed the recommender bundle modules. For more information about me, please visit http://michiza.com
Overview: The proposed module will make content recommendations using Google Analytics tracking data, and strive for a balance between "exploitation" (recommending popular contents) and "exploration" (recommending new and trendy contents) using the "multi-armed bandit" (MAB) algorithm
