Drupal User Group

We had a great turnout (13, as I recall) at Coworking Rochester (@coworkingroc) last night! Many thanks to David for his hospitality.

@tedbow gave his Views talk that he prepared for the upcoming DrupalCamp NYC (complete with some great demo examples!), and I thought it was a great intro, right through Relationships and Args. Hot awesomeness!

Thanks to everybody who came out & online last night! We had ten in person (three from Rochester, one from Syracuse!) and one online. The gotomeeting audio was AWESOME this time thanks to some extra hardware. And, of course, the video was great because Wally from HD Video Cafe hosted us in a screening room. Please chime in your thoughts on the location for future meetups - it's a hike for most but as John said, it's a LITTLE closer to Rochester than anything else we've found.

John W was nice enough to point out a new buffalo venue in this thread http://groups.drupal.org/node/69818 but we could use some feedback. There was interest in a Rochester-based meeting - any locations avbl for June 15 @ 7pm?? I'm a bit out of my element when it comes to Rochester venues, so please -if you're interested in holding some of these meetings in Rochester provide some venue leads!

Barring that, we'll probably have to explore John W's suggestion seeing as how Medaille is likely not an option...

I think a discussion about location would be useful. It sounds like the Stafford meeting was a great success, both in quality and attendance.

Does Stafford/Sugar Land actually work better for most?

I suppose there are a few ways to go about this. We could take a poll and determine which part of town is best for most. We could also rotate the meeting and try to vary the location. That said, finding practical venues is a challenge in itself.

Just found this group, and glad to see it was originally organized by the Ubercart guys.

I'd like to use this as jumping off point to start more regular face-to-face gatherings around the Louisville area for Drupal users and people who want to learn about Drupal.

My company would even be willing to sponsor such events. I'm the Director of Application Development at V-Soft Consulting, but I'm a web architect at heart and have been using Drupal for almost 2 years now. My latest personal project was www.crowdedtext.com.

Uns ist ja außerdem aufgefallen, dass es gut wäre langsam mal ein wenig Struktur in die Sache zu bringen, also z.B. durch kurze Vorträge zu einem oder mehreren Themen die vorher abgesteckt wurden.

Welche Themen würden euch dabei interessieren?
