The Ottawa Chapter of Autism Ontario is planning a Tug-of-War fundraising event in September called "The Big Pull". The full day event will see over 300 participants enjoy a fun day at Mooney's Bay in support of our local initiatives, including the creation of a new Autism Resource Centre in Ottawa.

As part of the planning process, we've decided to build an event specific website, https://BigPull.ca

We are going to build the site in Drupal 8 and could use a little help from a few volunteers!

I'm looking for a Linux Sys Admin expert to help with a review and security audit of a Ubuntu 14.04 server. Ideally you are an expert in Linux / LAMP servers, very comfortable with configuring & maintaining a variety of Apache/Nginx / mysql, etc servers.

This is a short term hourly contract opportunity but with very significant potential upside for the right person.

Ottawa based is ideal but not critical.

I am looking for someone who is comfortable writing site content, producing videos & working with higher level "site layout" & user interface design considerations for a couple of Drupal 7 based business sites that are being rebuilt.

A creative capability is critical, as is excellent English language skills.

I am looking for a Drupal developer/config person to help me turn up a new corporate site.

Ideally you are Ottawa based, but not critical. Part time, contract requirement over the next several weeks. Could be more to come in the new year.

Moderate complexity, mostly just config stuff and lots of theme customization. Might include Drupal Commerce for example, but should not need any custom modules.

Should be pretty comfortable with theme customization, CSS/PHP, etc. Ideally can work with SQL at some level if needed.

I am compiling a list for the Ottawa Drupal Association of all the companies large and small that offer Drupal related products or services to clients in the National Capital Region. Hopefully we can spread the word about you and your business and help our local community grow even faster.

I have been building a Drupal 7 social networking site called www.RealLifeEnglish.com for the past year or so. My site is getting very close to a beta release and I thought it might be fun to spend a 1/2 day sharing design and implementation ideas with others in a real world, hands on workshop setting.

There's a small group of passionate individuals planning a new community currency for Ottawa. The system (named Ottawa Community Currency Network) will target individuals and businesses and aims to promote trade without the use of cash. We're currently looking at various technology options to use and one of the contenders is Drupal (v6), and specifically http://www.CommunityForge.net / CForge, which uses the mutual_credit module. This code is currently maintained by a single individual, Matthew Slater.

Our goal is to get a prototype website up quickly with the basic functionality of a mutual credit trading system and looking like this HTML mockup: http://www.ottawaccn.org. I'm in the midst of doing that now.

Our future goal is to expand the functionality to include mobile payment, notifications by SMS, geo-tagged information to support "real-life" markets, multilingual support and more - eventually even tie-in with other community currency systems. Interested in helping out?
