One thing we talked about at the BoF in San Francisco was the value of having a place where people could gather and work together, help and be helped. So, inspired by all of you, a few of us at UC Berkeley have started up a monthly Builders Lounge for in-person collaboration, support, and general Drupalitude.
First meeting will be Tuesday May 4 at 3:30 pm on the Berkeley campus - see the event posting for more details. I hope some of you Bay Area Drupalchix can come!

Hi.
My name's Ayush, and I am a UC Berkeley grad student at the School of Information. I am working with a professor on a new course that would be offered in Spring 2010.
The course title is Commons Based Peer Production, and we are looking for projects that contribute to the Open Source community. Projects can be in any domain, from code to documentation to policy/strategy/marketing etc. We are expecting a diverse set of students, and hence we are looking for ways to work on Open Source that go beyond coding.
two aegir presentations on thursday 28 april 2009
Just a note for anyone wanting to learn more about Aegir, there are 2 separate presentations going down at local drupal user groups tomorrow.
Brian Wood will be doing a presentation at the Berkeley Drupal User Group and Robin Puga will be doing another Aegir presentation at the Vancouver user group.
If you're in the area, and want more info, and speak to people who have been following the project for a while, do drop by.

The Berkeley Drupal Users Group now has it's own g.d.o: http://groups.drupal.org/berkeley-users-group-bdug.
This group replaces the old BDUG site at http://drupal.citris-uc.org. Thanks to the sexy new og_panels features, I don't need to maintain a separate site just to support our user group. And now I can't just cross post to the Bay Area group with the click of a checkbox, rather than copy-and-pasting each month.
