Planned charges for flexicharge

This document is maintained.
Note: please refer to http://drupal.org/node/68363 for patch/code history.

I will be providing some standard charge types with Flexicharge. If you have more ideas, please add them as comments. Note, that most of these will all support %, +/-, renaming, cloning, and other features, so you don't need to suggest that stuff.

Shipping calculations? Where did they go in 4.7?

Hi everyone.

I just installed the 4.7 e-commerce package and have configured a webshop. However, I can't seem to find the shipment settings I had i the 4.6 version of e-commerce. The shipment module is installed and active, but this doesn't give me any shipment options. I don't want to use a separate module for shipmens (UPS, Airmail ++ modules). In the 4.6 versions I simply used the "standard" shipping calculation functionality where I could setup the following:

- Shipping costs based on number of items in shopping cart.

- Shipping costs based on total price of shopping cart.

ec_media selling songs

My interest in this group stems from having friends who want to make money from their art. I thought I would mention that there is a new addition in ecommerce 4.7 called ec_media which bridges the gap between audio and ecommerce.

import products/users from XML/CSV files

We are working on several online shops using Drupal + the e-commerce package. At the moment we are looking into integration with backend systems and datafeeds. Using either Drupal modules or programs which will interact directly with the drupal/e-commerce database.

E-Commerce docs management

E-Commerce project stands out from many other drupal contributions, mainly in size. Recently, access to Drupal CVS was tightened, allowing a project owner to specify who has access to the project. gordon has taken advantage of this, for obvious reasons.

So, at the moment, I've got the job of updating README files. I've decided to create this thread in order to inform you how I intend to do that, so you'll know what the heck is going on.

Artists First - another interesting digital shop solution - includes mobile payments

I've been having a look at a few of these and while it's a little bit buggy (only minor little glitches - not showstopping errors) and the payment rates (after the mobile operators' cut is taken) are quite low, I thought it might be worth flagging up here.

In a nutshell, the Artists First solution allows bands/artists to setup their own digital download shop, accepting SMS mobile payments, PAYPAL and credit/debit cards (via paypal) and selling downloads including: MP3, video, images, files, TRUETONES (aka REALTONES).

It's quite well put together, especially the TRUETONE RINGTONE sales bit, but, the main drawback is the revenue share between the Artist/band - Artist First and the mobile operator. For a £1.50 ringtone(truetones only) sale, here's the splits depending on operator:

A new D.I.Y. digital music shop service for artists/bands worth noting..

Just thought I'd mention that 7digital in the UK just launched a new service that allows bands to D.I.Y. their own digital music releases..

http://www.indiestore.com/ [open in a new window]

I've nothing to do with 7digital, although I have used them many times in the past, especially for single releases (they report sales to the official chart company) and campaigns.

Well worth noting for Drupallers involved in music sites and are watching this space..thought I'd mention it. the chart reporting and DIY element is quite important for bands/artists and a fairly unique service.
