Problems with users not logged in viewing a cart

We have inhertied a drupal site (5.x) with eCommerce module that, when a user isn't logged in, displays the same cart and notes to every guest user until they login.

Obviously this isn't ideal. I have checked the module code and I assume that this is taken by the session id, however when checking the database entries the user id associated is always 0.

Can anyone shed any light?

How and why entrepreneurs/small business owners should go for Drupal?

Today, entrepreneurs who own start-ups or small/medium business are faced with a quick need to setup e-business/ecommerce website with limited budget. I(as an entrepreneur with a small team) have been handling 5 to 10 such new clients per month from around the world. What do EU ecommerce stores do with VAT?

Hello everyone,

I'm setting up a store based in the EU that will sell internationally. VAT rules are really complicated. Our accountants tell us we have to ask for customers VAT reg no., validate it, and whether we charge depends on which country they're in, etc.

But whenever I've bought stuff online, whether as a business customer or a consumer, I've never had to give VAT reg details, or anything like that. And I've always just been charged VAT, even in some cases when I shouldn't have been.

Selling tickets based on a CCK date field

Hello folks,
I'm trying to work out a way to sell tickets to events in our calendar product. The idea would be that each event is also an ubercart product type. I'm using a cck date field to denote the event dates. Ideally we want to have this working so that a user could visit the event page, and purchase a ticket for a specific date as defined by this cck date field. The other caveat is that this needs to be automated, Requiring that a person enter in a new product for every date occurrence is just unfeasible in in this application.

PCI DSS compliance for ecommerce

As a follow up from a question at the May 26 meeting, I looked into what it takes to become PCI DSS compliant.
I thought I'd share what I learned. (PCI DSS = Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)

Summary:
I don't think Ubercart needs to be PCI DSS compliant. However, if you use a partner like Authorize.NET to process the card, you can be considered PCI DSS compliant if you perform and attest to a self assessment.

How Drupal can help a site admin for a label/artist site?

Introduction

This is is intended as a place-holder for ideas on how Drupal can help a site admin in charge of a label/artist site.

In other words, as well as offering the obvious content editing capabilities I'd like to raise the question "what can Drupal do for You?" in the context of a site admin in charge of a label/artist site.

Using Aggregators/going direct using Drupal?
