Let this page be a place were members can proposal potential new locations to meet as iMed is no longer available.
Put your potential location below here. Separate entries with a horizontal rule.
Comments:
Will Merydith says, "Is it possible to move this to DesMoines?"
Scott says, "We talked about that at the last meeting but don't remember if we got anywhere with it. We'd pick up some new people but probably loose some important members along the way."
Matt Nuzum says,

In an effort to support the entire range of Drupal skills amongst our members, I propose we generate a list of topics for our meetings. This is a wiki page so all the members should be able to edit it directly. Don't be afraid no topic is too simple or too complex.

Any Drupal folks in NW Iowa?
Hello all,
Thought I'd join, at least for the time being, as I'm moving to Seattle in a month. I'm in Sioux City and working on a few Drupal sites. Wouldn't mind some coffee shop drupal-ing if anyone else is nearby.

Someone was talking about using blueprint theme as a starter theme. Here is a nice little write up about doing just that.

What do you use to code and debug Drupal?
I'm testing out TextMate and Xdebug on OS X, similar to Dan Kurtz at Trellon, but I'm still unclear about advantages of one debugger to another, and the benefits of an IDE vs. independent text editors. What development tools do you use? And what do you think is the best PHP debugger?

I enjoyed meeting everyone at the Feb. meet-up and I'm really looking forward to our next gathering. Michael H. posed the question "Any ideas/agenda for the next meeting?" in another thread. I've a few ideas:
- Continue discussion on modules (or maybe dedicate 15 minutes per meeting to 'module of the month')
- Roundtable discussion on how everyone configures their drupal installs and complications they've encountered (single site or multi-site, server config, etc.)
Book Review - Learning Drupal 6 Module Development
I was very excited to receive my copy of "Learning Drupal 6 Module Development" by Matt Butcher. So excited, I asked my wife, "Guess the title of the awesome book I just got?" Her sarcastic reply tells you much about me and the regular lecture she gets, "DRUPAL!?". Ok, so I'm a little beyond this book but the title is so great!

Hello,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the rest of the members here. I'm from Minnesota and my fiance is now a grad student at Iowa State. I'm an independent software consultant and unfortunately have no contacts in Ames. I'm interested in networking and finding gigs near Ames.
I've worked on two Dupal projects, but the majority of my work has been Java and .Net based. I had this group recommended as a good place to meet developers in central Iowa. Unless I pick up a client in Minnesota first, I plan to be at the meeting on the 26th. I look forward to meeting people then.
