March Central Florida Meetup Wrapup
Thanks to everyone for coming out to the March (central) Florida Drupal User's Group meetup yesterday at MindComet's offices in Altamonte Springs. We had about 10 people there, including 1 new person.
We started the meetup with a DrupalCon DC discussion. 5 of us at the meetup were at DrupalCon, so we decided to run through the DrupalCon schedule and give (very) quick summaries of the sessions we found most interesting and the top one or two things we learned. It was a fairly quick and informative way to cover things.

Anyone going to Drupalcon looking for rooms to share (or have a room to share)? I'm arriving on the 3rd, leaving on the 8th, looking for a the right mix of pretty close and reasonably priced (optimally, I'd love to manage to spend less than $60-70 per night.)

I'll be heading down to DrupalconDC from Albany, NY and I'm looking to carpool. If you're interested please get in contact.

Vancouver goes to DrupalCon DC 2009
So, I know this is ridiculously early, and yet at the same time all the early bird tickets are basically sold out.
I was asked to propose a session for DrupalCon DC 2009 to help launch the website -- it's Practical Semantic Web and Why You Should Care (aside: Jim Pick is kicking off Semantic Vancouver, event on Upcoming).
I missed Hungary (my first one I missed ever!) and I really would like to go to DC.

As many of you know, the next DrupalCon - THE conference for Drupal developers - will be in Washington, DC, March 4-7, 2009. Hooray! For those new to DrupalCons, this is a huge unconference for developers. It's a time for us to get together, learn from each other, trade ideas, make decisions, and build a stronger community.
There will be an early bird special in which the first 100 people to register can come for just $125. Tickets won't go on sale until next week, but we wanted to give everyone here a heads up so you can be on the lookout. We'll announce when DrupalCon DC registration opens up via Twitter, and will let followers get a two-hour head start before we get the word out elsewhere. So, follow us!
We'll talk more about DrupalCon at the meetup on Monday, so come out!
