Langue GDO (switch to French?)

En regardant la config de notre groupe GDO, je vois qu'on peut désigner la langue par défaut pour le français. Je ne connais pas les effets secondaires que ça pourrait avoir, mais j'aimerais essayer. Qu'est-ce que vous en pensez?
Looking at our GDO group config, I see we can set the default language to French. I don't know what secondary effects that might have, but I would like to try. What do you think?
UPDATE: I don't mean switching content language of course, I'm strictly speaking about the default interface and mail language.
