Vancouver

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Welcome to VANDUG!

The Vancouver Drupal Users Group (VanDUG) is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story.

The group mostly hangs out on Slack at https://vandug.slack.com/. We also post our meetings on Meetup.com at https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Drupal-Users-Group. All are welcome, it's listed as a private group to keep out the griefers.

We've been holding semi-regular virtual meetings during COVID-19.

Surrey Drupal Meetup June: Integrating Agile Practices into your Dev Processes

Start:
2010-06-10 07:00 - 09:00 America/Vancouver
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

Doug Gough from 313 Web will be presenting on how to integrate agile practices in your development processes. Drupal freelancers and smaller development shops can take advantage of more Agile methods for all stages of a project to ensure that they discover and deliver on the client's goals. An Agile approach to development requires a lot of communications and collaboration between the client and the developer, but our customers are often individuals or small businesses with very little time to spare.

Gmap - control the number of zoom level

By default, there are 18 zoom levels. I'm wondering if anyone has got experience with limiting the number of zoom level to a smaller number (e.g. 8) ?

I searched around and found that there are ways to control the maximum zoom level and the minimum zoom level in google map documentation page: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/reference.html

but can't figure out how to control these from drupal.

Big brother/big sister ?

Hi,

I'm a new Drupal user and as such, am trying to climb the steep learning curve to getting my site done (a simple family website, nothing commercial) the way I'd like. I do a lot of reading on the drupal website and have figured out a couple things, but I really am in need of some basic answers. No books I have found seems to do the trick either (either too simple or too advanced; missing manual to come?).

My question is: is there a way to have a big brother/big sister system to help out the Vancouverites with Drupal questions?

Wireframing Tools

Thanks to @bmann I came across a really great post from Morten Just on using the new Google Draw for wireframing, (and @chrisstrahl for reminding me to post this up to the group). He's created a bunch of templates and stencils and shared them publicly so anyone can use them. I have been trying it out for a set of wireframes I've been working on this week, and it's actually pretty good.
