How To: Florida Drupal Virtual Meetups
Interested in hosting a virtual meetup for the Florida Drupal community? Here's what you need to know!
WHAT THIS IS
Introducing Virtual Florida Drupal Meetups!
Greetings everyone!
I'm pleased to announce the launch of a new Florida Drupal initiative - streaming virtual meet ups!
Let's face it: sometimes, you want to get to your local meet up but "life" gets in the way and you can't attend. Or, you might see an awesome topic being shared somewhere else in the state but it's too far to drive. Or maybe, unfortunately, there isn't a meetup near you and your city.

This month, BDUG is excited to demo a special project that is being worked on for the whole community. Named "Relativity for DrupalCamps", this project brings a Relativity data driven solution for Drupal Camp organizers and volunteers to rapidly spin-up Drupal Camp sites with a whole new way to handle scheduling, sessions, sponsorship, featured speakers and instructors.
This back end demo will take you through camp setup, creating multi-day schedules and time slots, handling sessions and speakers, and attracting sponsors.

Hey everybody,
On Tuesday of DrupalCon Seattle week I attended the Community Summit. One of the (literal) roundtable discussions I was involved with was for virtual meetups. I was going email a braindump directly to Adam Varn (the current coordinator of Florida's upcoming virtual meetup initiative), but I figured it would be more valuable to post it here to gather (hopefully) additional feedback.

This month, Jay continued talking about using his Relativity (https://jay-epstein.com/relativity) methodology for helping Ron Norman build a Politics site.
He started out discussing the Candidate content type and what fields that we need to add. Last month we added the following fields to the Candidate content type:
First Name
Last Name
Middle Initial
Party Affiliation
Home State
Issue Answer
Jay added an image content type and talked about how different properties on the image field affect if/how images are displayed.

Hey everybody,
We're going to have a Drupal meetup in Brevard for the first time in forever! This meetup will be the first of the newly-organized (thanks, Adam Varn!) Florida Drupal meetups that will be broadcast via Zoom.
Each month, a different geographic area of Florida will have an in-person meetup and broadcast it via Zoom (link will be posted here prior to the meetup).
I'll be presenting "11 tips to start your Drupal project right" at this meetup.
Following the meetup, we'll be heading to Ryan's Pizza for dinner.
Hope to see everyone there!

This month, Jay talked about using his Relativity (https://jay-epstein.com/relativity) methodology for helping Ron Norman build a Politics site.
He started out with the Basics of Relativity, including how to use the Auto Entity Label module. He went on to discuss what types of fields can be created based on how you want to model you data for later consumption/search/display. Jay finished by discussing how to create a link between how a candidate thinks about an issue and how to refer to the issue itself.
We had six remote users and zero in person.

Drupal 8.6.10 fresh install with CiviCRM installed. I'm trying to play around with Layout Builder. Decided to apply it to Basic Page content type, but it doesn't seem to be working.
Am I missing something?
Article content type is working as expected. Searched online to figure it out with no luck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Our Dunkin' Doughnuts location that we have been using since April 2010 is remodeling the next few months, so until we find a new location, we will have all remote meetups. In other words, this month will be 100% remote.

Our Dunkin' Doughnuts location that we have been using since April 2010 is remodeling, so we are going all remote this month.
We started off the meetup reminiscing about the past.
