Javascript/jQuery Talk
Hi Everyone - I just moved to the Cambridge area about a month ago and am quite new to Drupal. However, I am the founder and lead developer of the jQuery Javascript Library - which is going to be the default Javascript library provided with Drupal 4.8.
So, my question is: Would anyone be interested in hearing a presentation on the library, what it's capable of, how it's being used to improve Drupal, and how you can use it in your applications? If you're interested, also let me know w

Update: the presentation
The Boston users group is meeting for the second time. Hosted by the Cambridge Center for Community Television. Here is the map. Some of us will likely continue the conversation over dinner at a local restaurant.
If there is a good chance that you will attend, please signup using the form below.
Leo Burd, a doctoral student at MIT Media Lab, will present on the following ...
In my presentation I will talk about how to integrate Drupal with telephony or voice-over-IP (VoIP) technologies. In particular, I would like to focus on the work that I'm doing with Asterisk, the open-source PBX (http://www.asterisk.org/), and on some new Drupal modules that provide audio blogging, voicemail and other features that help expand the outreach of traditional websites to people for whom computers are either inaccessible or too hard to use. As an example, I'll demo the current version of "What's Up", a telephone-based, neighborhood news system for and by kids. It will be great to get feedback from the Drupal community and discuss potential applications of these new tools!
See you there.

Read moreACM Conference in July
There is a conference coming to Boston in July (6-8) for public, educational and government access television that will have some workshops that may be of interest to this Boston Drupal community. Mostly it covers public access industry, technology and administration, but a few specifically will talk about video and multimedia content distribution across the web. I am not sure what the conference costs but you might want to check it out. I'll link them here:

It was an excellent meet-up in Cambridge last night.
Is there someone here who has a functioning 4.7 Events module with the BasicEvent. Could you share your settings for Admin->Dates->Default, Admin->dates->configurable, Events->Time Zone Input, Event->Time Zone Display. I can't find the right combination. All my dates are displaying one hour earlier than what is input.
I need to implement a community calendar for a site and it's just not working.
Thanks,
Ken

The Boston users group is meeting for the first time. Hosted by the Berkman Center at Harvard University in Cambridge. Directions. Some of us will likely continue the conversation over dinner at a local restaurant.
I will be presenting briefly about the technology behind this groups.drupal.org web site. Afterwards, we'll open up the floor for discussion of all kinds. We will also try to decide upon a location and date for our next meeting. Volunteer hosts welcome.

If anyone has a nice space where we can meet, that would be helpful. We should have a handful of places in our rotation so we can schedule as desired and folks from north south and west all get convenient access once in a while. I'm planning to ask for space at Berkman Center at Harvard University.
