The Drupal Chicago Meetup Group holds meetups on various topics and networking opportunities. Presentations and speakers are aimed at a general audience, with site show-and-tells, module demonstrations, news and announcements, and question and answer sessions.
If you live or work in the suburbs, check out the Fox Valley Drupal Meetup group with topics for all users.
Volunteers in the Chicago Drupal Group also organize MidCamp - Midwest Drupal Camp. Drupal camps are multi-day events that can include training days, session days, code and documentation sprints, and social events. Held annually in March, MidCamp is quickly becoming one of the larger and prestigious Drupal camps due to its high level of speakers, content, accessibility, and attention to detail.

For more than 3 years the Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group has highlighted the benefits of an open source initiative. I am writing everyone to announce the CDMUG summer vacation will be over shortly. I apologize for the gap in events from month to month, but I wouldn't feel too bad. I spoke with many other organizers in countries from all over the world at Drupalcon Paris. They are lucky enough to get more than 15 people to meet every few months. This proves that Chicago is one of the largest Drupal communities in the world. Great work everyone, it is because of you that we have this wonderful group.

What to do with the Indiana Drupal Users Group
There will be no meeting this month. I've been too busy to set one up and my schedule had limited availability to attend even if one was scheduled.
Our last meeting had more pizzas than people. [My family really enjoyed the left overs!]

Redhat Summit, Sept 1-4th
Drupal has been invited to participate in the RedHat Summit Expo in Chicago. The Drupal booth will be available for two days and will give us an opportunity to promote Drupal to a large audience of professional open source users. The costs for the booth are $1500 and if we can find some booth organizers we can find funding for the booth.
