Colorado Drupal Vocational School?
I want to note up front that this is just a vague idea, and I'd like to gauge interest from potential organizers before figuring out the details. So I very likely don't have answers to any questions you might have and would prefer to come up with the answers with everyone else involved. That said, here's the idea...
Read moreTeaming For Technology Colorado: Upcoming Drupal Classes
Good afternoon! I hope you don't mind a bit of shameless promotion here, but I wanted to let you all know about a series of three classes Teaming For Technology Colorado is offering, thanks to our volunteer Steve Kessler, which we hope to have it be a part of the Drupal Association Global Training Days (http://drupal.org/learn-drupal).
The classes might seem a bit basic for some of you on this list, but if you know of people who are looking to get a taste of Drupal and what it can do for them, please pass on the listings below.

The inaugural meeting of Drupalistas from the south Denver metro area: the Denver Tech Center, Lone Tree, Parker, Highlands Ranch ... you get the idea.
As the first time meeting for those of us on the south-side, we'll have some organizational things to talk about, I'm sure. Beyond that, anyone want to offer a starter topic; perhaps an introduction to Drupal?
And thanks to the folks at the Innovation Pavilion for making their space available for this! It's a great location: right off I-25 and Dry Creek, near the Ikea.
Read moreThird Denver Drupal Event?
Last night's DBUG Meetup in Denver was another packed house. At the end of the event we did a quick straw poll to gauge people's interested in a third event (in addition to the monthly meetup and Drupal Ladder). People overwhelmingly were interested in adding another event.
There seemed to be a lot of interest in a more informal event, such as an open office night, that would allow people to talk Drupal, but also socialize.

Read moreDrupalCon Portland sessions from Colorado
Many people in the Colorado Drupal community have proposed sessions for DrupalCon Portland. Many others in Colorado have heard these people present or even heard early versions of the presentations proposed for Portland. So ... let's post links to our sessions here and leave comments on the session pages explaining to the good people of Portland how great our Colorado-sourced presentations would be at DrupalCon.

Hi --
I would love to see the Drupal Ladder meetups grow. I think one of our issues is the inconsistency in locations, having the meetups alternating between Denver and Boulder.
With my recent job change to working at Aten Design Group .... yeah me ... I think now is a great time start having consistent/monthly meetings in each city. To do this, I need someone to take over running the Boulder Ladder DBUG's. If you'd like to take over the meetup, but the third Thursday don't work, I'm sure we can change the dates. Another idea is having meetups concurrently through Hangouts.

Looking for roomies for DrupalCon Portland
Hooray! I just registered for DCon Portland. Now I'd like to find somebody (or somebodies) to room with.
I will be flying out on Monday and flying back on Friday (so that I can participate in the sprints). So, I'll be staying over on Monday - Thursday evening. The official DrupalCon hotel (http://portland2013.drupal.org/portland/accommodations) has a rate of $139 / night for double occupancy. I'd be happy to share a room with somebody. Or, if we can get a group of people together and rent some other accommodation in the area I'm game to hear about that as well.
