Thanks for a great event

The Free Drupal Training held on Saturday was wildly successful--36 people signed in, but we put away 40 chairs. I want to thank Michael for his leadership and for instigating this event and making it happen.

I also want to thank the DrupalCorn members who attended and worked hard during the second half of the workshop; several people told me how much they appreciated being able to get immediate assistance as they worked through the intricacies of installing XAMPP/MAMP and Drupal, then getting a local site going.

Node Image displayed in Block on that Page = Mini Panels???

So I spent a few hours trying to figure this out - there has got to be a way and I'm just missing it - especially since Panels is uncharted territory for me!

On some pages I've got an image field that I want to appear in a block or panel in the header (above the "content" section where the rest of the page shows up). I thought a Mini Panel would be perfect because it would pick up the "context" and use that node's image field. I was wrong.

To DRUSH or Not to DRUSH

For almost a year now I've been developing Drupal sites using an old desktop PC (running Ubuntu 9.04) as my dev platform. Now I have reason to take my development on the road so I picked up a cheap laptop, configured it to dual boot Windows and Ubuntu 9.10, and managed to get my dev environment for one site setup on it last night.

I've got 6-7 other Drupal sites that I need to setup on it now and am once again pondering if I should load drush and try to get comfy with it. I know what some of you will tell me...'bout time, eh?

Master/Detail w/ sub form

Hi,

I'm considering building an app and wondering if this thing can be done easily in Drupal or if it would be stretching the way Drupal works.

Basically, I want to create a node and then attach additional nodes to it. In my case the attached nodes are images and file uploads (probably using image cache and filefield.

Limiting "Create Content" by Roles

OK, I must be losing my mind. Tried posting this twice before and it's gone nowhere? On top of that, I know (or at least believe) there is a way to limit the list of content types that certain roles see when they select "Create Content". Anybody care to remind me where/how that is done?

getting a library database on the site

Hi,

The good folks who manage the my church's library have created an Excel database and they would like to see it on the website (uufames.org). Here is a link the person who is helping them provided: http://sites.google.com/site/uufalibrarycardcatalogtest/

As you can see, what this person has done is to export "printouts" of the Excel file that has been sorted in 3 ways. This seems clunky and weird to me, but I am not quite sure how to proceed, so I'm asking your advice.

Here are my assumptions and questions:

URL assumed "index.html" (or in our case, "index.php")

I am converting a site that makes link reference to ../directory/

It assumes ../directory/index.php

Yet when I click on the link I get a "The requested page could not be found." If I extend the URL manually by typing index.php at the end, I get the page I need to in Drupal.

How can I make Drupal behave like my httpd.conf file behaves in these cases?
