As my mentor once said, always know (have) your agenda! Well now its your turn. Bring your agenda to our next meeting and you might get your issues addressed.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here's a (big) hint at my agenda: http://drupalcorn.org
Hello Michael,
Read morephp / performance specialist, well known author at dsm webgeeks on Monday
John VanDyk, well known author of "Drupal Professional Development" and international speaker will be at "Des Moines Web Geeks" on Monday, Sept 21st, speaking about server side performance. There will be something for all skill levels so if you'd like to learn how to make your web apps run faster this is an excellent time to check out the group.
We'll also be celebrating our one year anniversary as a group and I have some gifts to give away! Apress gave me a few books to hand out at the meeting.

The Planet Drupal aggregator.
New modules.
Twitter search for "drupal." Obnoxious volume but entertaining to skim.
Post installation support forum. Helping people is good for your karma. And educational.
Iowa Drupal Users group meeting - 28Sep2009 - Views Bulk Operations
I have used View Bulk Operations regularly. You can make a very powerful dashboard with out too much effort. I usually use it with Workflow, Triggers, Actions, Rules, ..... So this discussion will quickly bleed into all realms of workflows and state machines.

I just posted a question to the Drupal.org forums at http://drupal.org/node/570220. I'm having issues with Views Bulk Operations and scripting something that will help me modify a few hundred nodes at a pop. Not something I need to do very often but am hoping VBO will provide an easy way to get it done. Not yet. 8^(
Thanks in advance if you can get me over this bump.

In an effort to support the entire range of Drupal skills amongst our members, I propose we generate a list of topics for our meetings. This is a wiki page so all the members should be able to edit it directly. Don't be afraid no topic is too simple or too complex.

Iowa Drupal Users group meeting - 31aug2009 - Search Engine Optimization
One of my sites recently got audited by a third party for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Most things I already new but there were a few interesting surprises. I thought sharing what I learned would be a great launching point for our meeting.
Please do bring your own agenda, questions, answers and friends.

Use Case: Notify Users of Upcoming Event?
Got a question about Rules module capability before I jump in.
I have a CCK data type which tracks performance dates and volunteer staff assignments at a local non-profit theatre. Note that I'm NOT using the Events module here nor the Events Manager Reminder module which apparently have not been ported to Drupal 6. I am using Date and Calendar.
